25.01.2022 MUCHEA LIVESTOCK CENTRE SHEEP & LAMB SALE Tuesday 22nd September 2020 Yarding 8,670 Lambs 3,670 Sheep 5,000 Change 2,416 Change 1,416 Change 1,000 Comparison Date 15/09/2020... Muchea sheep and lamb sale penned 8,670 head in a market where quality and quantity improved. That improvement in quality generally ifted new seasons lambs by $5/head. The hoggets and ewe mutton gained $10 on increased competition and the increased quality. In the lamb section best new season trade weight lambs 22 to 24kg sold from $135 to $142 at near 600c/kg cwt, gaining $5 ith lighter trade eight lambs making from $74 to $121/head. Old seasons lambs remained firm. The airfreight 13 to 17kg lambs made from $60 to $115 and the 18 to 20kg sold from $112 to $121/head. The best trade weight lambs 22 to 24kg made from $126 to $145 with heavier making $149/head. Store Merino lambs to graziers also remained firm with wethers selling from $65 to $121 and ewes made from $81 to $122/head. The best hoggets to the trade made from $110 to $139, up $10/head on a much improved quality selection. The few best heavy older wethers sold from $126 to $136 to remain firm. In the ewe mutton market, medium weight boners 19 to 24kg sold from $80 to $118. The 25 to 30kg trade weights from $118 to $146, heavier weights sold from $130 to $160/head. 25.01.2022 MUCHEA LIVESTOCK CENTRE SHEEP & LAMB SALE Tuesday 3rd November 2020 Yarding 11,221 Lambs 6221 Sheep 5000 Comparison Date 27/10/20... Muchea sheep and lamb sale penned 11221 head up 1570 on last week in an overall very reduced quality yarding ,with pricing commensurate in the lamb section. Old seasons lambs to the trade were $5 to $10 easier. New seasons lamb values varied,they were $5 dearer for lightweights to feeders and down $5 on airfreight and light trade types. The prime 21 to 22kg/CWT lambs remained firm. Ram lambs eased $10 quality driven. Hoggets fell $5 on an oversupply. Best wethers fell $15 on a very light penning. In the ewe mutton section the medium weight boners and the extra heavy weights remained firm, with the prime 25 to 30kg up $5 on the back of increased competition. In the lamb section, new seasons light weight lambs 12 to 16kgs sold from $70 to $110 to feeders up $5, the corresponding old seasons lambs made similar money. The light weight airfreight 17 to 18kgs/CWT new seasons lambs were $5 easier and sold from $105 to $122,at near 650c/kg CWT, with the corresponding old seasons lambs down $10 and sold from $100 to $115. The light trade new seasons lambs 19 to 20kg/CWT also eased $5 at near 620ckg/CWT and sold from $119 to $125 with old seasons at $112 to $119 also $5 easier. The trade weight 21 to 22kg/CWT new seasons lambs sold from $122 to $150 at near 630ckg/CWT to remain firm, the corresponding old seasons lambs sold from $119 to $142 down $10 and very much quality driven. No heavy lambs were penned. Ram lambs eased $10 quality driven and sold from $75 to $118 at near 575c/kg CWT Best hoggets to the trade were wethers at $121 to $145 down $5 on the large volume penned at near 490ckg/CWT . The heavy older wethers to processors fell $15 on a very light penning and sold from $140 to $151 at near 490ckg/CWT. 24.01.2022 MUCHEA LIVESTOCK CENTRE CATTLE SALE Monday 19th October 2020 Comparison Date 12/10/20 Yarding 2336 Change 453... Muchea cattle market yarded 2,336 head up 500 on last week and demand remained strong despite the extra numbers. Restocker and feeder demand from NSW graziers continues to drive the pastoral type lighter weights. Market movers today were the weaner steers that gained 10c/kg. Light and medium weight bulls gained 20c and prime heavy bulls gained 5c/kg. On the negative side yearling steers eased 10c to 20c on a poorer quality selection and cows to manufacturers eased 5c/kg on a larger selection. In the weaner portion of the yarding, the local weaner steers to feeders sold from 318c to 420c up 10c as were the corresponding pastoral weaner steers that sold made 260c to 352c, local weaner heifers sold from 316c to 382c to remain firm, as did the pastoral weaner heifers that sold from 174c to 328c/kg. Yearling steers made from 344c to 374c and eased 20c with the pastorals down by 10c and sold from 244c to 337c/kg. Local yearling heifers were firm and sold from 316c to 384c with the pastoral types also firm and sold from 196c to 346c/kg. Grown steers sold from 352c to 354c, the pastorals sold from 258c to 340c/kg all firm. In the cow market, the medium weight 2 scores to processors sold from 220c to 250c a slight fall of 5c/kg. The prime local cattle to processors sold from 250c to 282c, again 5c/kg easier. Bulls including pastorals light to live export and NSW grazier demand, sold from 300c to 394c to be 20c dearer as were the medium weight range, 450 to 600kg that sold to live export made from 258c to 350c/kg. Numbers were down for a small yarding of just 660 head of mainly good quality cattle at Muchea following the Anzac Day Holiday. All categories sold with demand, with only cows and bulls seeing a softening in prices. Angus weaner steers reached 536c, while heifers topped at 500c/kg. Cow prices eased on demand selling to a top of 344c/kg. Weaner steers weighing over 330kg sold for 510c, while medium weights made 470c/kg. The lightweight weaners returned from 440c to 536c/kg. Local bred weaner heifers sold for 394c to 500c/kg depending on quality. Local bred yearling steers sold from 380c to 510c, and heifers from 400c to 480c/kg. Pastoral yearling steers sold from 350c to 404c, while heifers made from 288c to 450c/kg. Grown steers weighing over 400kg sold for 350c to 390c, while light weights returned 320c to 398c, and lighter pastoral steers made 280c to 328c/kg. Grown heifers weighing under 540kg made 300c to 362c, and the pastoral heifers sold from 180c to 358c/kg. Heavy weight prime cows eased, selling from 288c to 344c, while medium weight cows returned 250c to 324c/kg. Store condition cows made from 130c for light pastoral types and up to 310c/kg to restocker buyers. Heavy weight bulls sold from 248c to 330c to processors, and medium weight bulls made from 288c to processors, and from 248c to 330c/kg to export. 23.01.2022 MUCHEA LIVESTOCK CENTRE SHEEP & LAMB SALE Tuesday 1st February 2022 Comparison Date 25/01/22 Yarding 13,479 - Change +5,848 Lamb 7,400 - Change +3,214... Sheep 6,079 - Change +2,634 Numbers were up over 5000 head for a total yarding of 13,479 this week at Muchea. A mixed quality yarding with good runs of heavy ewe mutton and prime and store lines of lambs. Lambs fluctuated with store lines trending down and good heavy lambs gaining with demand to sell to a top of $240/head. Mutton remained firm on light weights but gained on the quality heavy ewes offered selling to $205 and a pen of large mature wethers sold for $220/head. In the lamb market, the under 12kg cwt lambs eased selling from $55 to $97/head. The under 16kg cwt range made from $77 to $138 easing on demand and heavier under 18kg cwt sold from $120 to $160/head easing on quality. Live Export paid $138 to $190/head to secure types. Trade weight lambs saw light weights sell for $148 up to $198/head and for the heavier lambs to processors. Heavy lambs made from $190 to $240/head. Hoggets sold from $180 to $196 while Merino wethers sold from $90 to $185 & young Merino ewes from $70 to $180/head. Light weight & store ewes sold at $47 for very light score 1 ewes up to $164/head for good framed ewes carrying a full fleece. The prime trade weight ewes 25 to 30kg cwt range made from $141 to $196/head with a fleece. The heavy 30kgs plus cwt ewes sold at $190 to $205/head with a fleece. Muchea cattle market yarded 1,813 head down nearly 500 on last week in a reduced quality yarding ,particularly on the pastoral light weights but demand remained strong. Restocker and Feeder demand from NSW graziers continues to drive the pastoral type lighter weights. Market movers today were the local weaner and yearlings to feeders up by 20c to 40c with pastoral heifers 50c/kg dearer. In the weaner portion of the yarding, the local weaner steers to feeders sold from 370c to 472c up 40c, the corresponding pastoral weaner steers sold from 280c to 376c/kg. Local weaner heifers sold from 378c to 450c up 40c, the 2 score pastoral weaner heifers sold from 240c to 404c/kg on a poorer selection. Local yearling steers to the trade sold from 372c to 402c to remain firm, 2 score types to feeders gained 20c and sold from 332c to 424c lifting by 20c/kg. The pastorals 2 score feeders sold from 260c to 368c/kg. Local yearling heifers to the trade sold from 340c to 380c up 15c, lighter types to restockers gained 20c and sold from 300c to 438c/kg. The pastoral light weights slipped in quality but gained 50c on the back of interstate inquiry and sold from 164c to 336c/kg. Medium and heavy weights remained firm and sold from 290c to 368c/kg. Bulls, including pastorals light to live export, sold from 348c to 374c/kg with the medium weight range, 450 to 600kg selling from 290c to 336c/kg. 20.01.2022 MUCHEA LIVESTOCK CENTRE CATTLE SALE Monday 24th August 2020 Comparison Date 17/08/2020 Yarding 1832 Change 732... Muchea cattle market 24 August saw 1,832 head up 700 head on last week, a lesser quality penning prevailed particularly on younger pastoral types that comprised over 80% of the yarding. Cattle to processors were keenly sought. Again a very good line up of hard high yielding pastoral cows generated strong demand to remain firm on last weeks strong sale. Pastoral grown steers gained 20c, with medium and heavy weight bulls increasing by to up 7c to 10c/kg. The few local weaner and yearlings remained firm but the pastoral young cattle generally gained 15c to 40c/kg on the back of strong eastern states grazier demand following big rains in outback NSW. In the weaner portion of the yarding the local weaner steers to feeders sold from 332c to 438c, up 50c, the corresponding pastoral weaner steers made from 230c to 362c, to be up by 40c/kg. Local weaner heifers sold from 308c to 372c firm, with a much poorer quality offering of pastoral weaner heifers at 180c to 270c, down by 15c/kg. The pick local yearling supplementary fed heifers to the trade made from 308c to 352c/kg firm. No local yearling steers offered. The pastoral yearling steers off grass mainly sold from 220c to 342c, up 40c, with pastoral yearling heifers predominately medium weight and 2 score condition selling from 236c to 330c up 15c/kg. Grown steers local and between 500 to 550kg, made 338c, down 10c driven by quality, with pastorals selling from 236c to 320c, up 20c/kg. In the cow market that were predominately pastoral cattle, the light weights to processors made from 218c to 222c, down 10c/kg due to quality. The medium weight 2 score to processors sold from 218c to 246c firm, with the prime to processors selling from 248c to 290c/kg also firm. Bulls including pastorals, light to live export, the better quality made from 352c to 358c firm, medium weights 450 to 600kg to processors sold from 240c to 350c, up 10c, and heavy to processors up 7c made from 248c to 286c/kg. Sheep 3,031 - Change -1008 Numbers eased by 1,200 with 11,465 head penned. The quality of the prime lambs was exceptional, gaining $8/head and generally averaging 750c to 800c/kg. Ram lambs remained firm at 650c/kg. Hoggets gained $8/head with the better mutton firm at 600c/kg. Light store lambs eased $5 to $10/head with the absence of two feedlots. Heavy rams dropped $100/head on last week's impressive sale. In the lamb market, lambs up to 12kg sold to restockers at rates firm on last week, selling $40 to $75/head. The 12 to 16kg lambs to graziers eased $10 and sold from $59 to $125/head. The 17 to 20kg range eased $5 from last sale, selling from $115 to $149/head and averaging 715c/kg cwt. The 20 to 22kg lambs sold to traders and feedlots from $140 to $175/head, up $8 to average 740c/kg cwt. The prime lambs over 22kg were the pick of the yard, selling from $170 to $220, up by $10/head and averaging 800c/kg cwt. The ram lamb supply remained consistent with the heavier weights selling to a top of $170/head and averaging 650c/kg cwt. Well conditioned hoggets sold from $168 to $195, gaining $8/head and averaged 650c/kg cwt. The ewe mutton yarding included a mix of weights and grades with prices holding firm on trade and heavier weights. Boner mutton slipped $8/head with one processor absent. The medium weight boners sold from $114 to $140/head. The prime trade weight ewes 24 to 30kg sold from $140 to $180/head, at 600c/kg cwt. Numbers were up for a total yarding of 1361 good quality cattle at Muchea. The yarding was dominated by cows with a good run of heavy Angus cows selling to 348c while feeder cows reached 376c/kg. Lightweight calves gained with demand with steers selling to a top of 765c and heifers at 684c/kg. Local bred vealer steers sold for 520c to 765c depending on weights, heifers gained 30c making from 510c to 684c while pastoral heifers returned 500c to 562c/kg. Yearling steers sold from 454c for pastoral types to 592c for local bred while yearling heifers returned 406c to 500c /kg. Grown steers weighing under 500kg sold for 370c to 494c while 500 to 600 kg steers sold at 392c to 428c/kg. Bullocks weighing between 600 & 750kg returned 364c to 428c gaining 40c on quality. Grown heifers weighing under 540kg sold for 320c to 456c and weights over 540kg made 368c to 442c /kg. Heavy prime cows gained 10c finishing at 306 to 348c, medium weight cows gained selling for 352c/kg. Store cows sold to processors from 280c to 300c while feeder buyers paid from 280c to 376c/kg. Heavy bulls eased 10c selling for 262c to 378c to processors while export bulls made from 354c to 400c, medium weights returned 288c to 430c/kg. Restocker and feeder demand from NSW graziers continues to drive the pastoral type lighter weights. Market movers today were the local weaner steers and heifers that gained 30c/kg. Pastoral weaner heifers, the better 2 score type gained 45c and pastoral yearlings gained from 15c to 30c/kg on the back of the NSW demand. Light weight bulls were also in strong demand and rose 40c/kg. Cows to processors eased 10c on the extra numbers and heavy bulls also eased 20c/kg again driven by an oversupply. In the weaner portion of the yarding, the local weaner steers to feeders sold from 360c to 454c up 30c/kg, the corresponding pastoral weaner steers sold from 270c to 284c/kg to remain firm. Muchea sheep and lamb sale penned 8,500 head, down by 2,700 with a very poor quality yarding. With the advent of new seasons lambs coming to hand in the near future, today was a clean out of old seasons lambs by vendors. In most cases they were presented in score 2 condition and the lack of quality drove the market down. Air freight and light trade lambs eased $5/head quality driven. Best trade and heavy lambs were back $15/head, again quality driven. Better quality hoggets fell $5 and ram lambs fell by $10/head. In the mutton market a better run of quality heavy mutton, saw prices firm however medium weights eased $5 with boners back from $5 to $15/head. Today's market toppers were heavy lambs at $181, ram lambs at $159, hoggets at $176, wethers at $174 and heavy ewes at $174/head. In the lamb section, particularly the air freight types, the light 13 to 17kg made from $70 to $121 and were down by $5/head at near 630c/kg cwt. Lambs 18 to 20kg to processors made from $115 to $130, down $5/head at near 630c/kg cwt. The trade weight 21 to 22kg lambs sold from $135 to $150, back $15/head at 650c/kg cwt. Heavier 23kg and above lambs sold from $150 to $181, down $15 at near 650c/kg cwt. Ram lambs made from $140 to $159, down $10/head. Very light store Merino lambs to graziers, the wethers mainly saw between $90 to $105 firm with ewes to restockers selling from $65 to $136, up $10/head on the previous week. Best heavy hoggets to the trade made from $133 to $176, with the tops being heavy wethers up by $15/head. The few best heavy older wethers sold to $174 up $15/head. In the ewe mutton market light weights boners up to 18kg sold from $40 to $90, down $15, while medium weight boners 19 to 24kg made from $80 to $135, down $3/head. A similar quality yarding where new seasons lambs remained firm at 620c/kg cwt, old season lambs slipped in quality and eased in price from $5 to $10/head in comparison to the new season lines. The ram lambs gained $20 on an improved selection, similarly hoggets gained $10/head on the better selection and increased demand. In the mutton market values eased a slight $5/head on prime types and sold around 500c/kg cwt. In the lamb section, extreme light weight new season lambs up to 12kg sold to graziers from $55 to $61/head. The 12 to 16kg lines sold again to graziers from $70 to $116/head. The 17 to 18kg airfreight types sold from $115 to $121/head or to average 700c/kg cwt. All trade types sold around 620c/kg cwt, with the 19 to 20kg lines selling from $120 to $128/head. The 21 to 22kg lambs sold from $130 to $145 with the heaviest types making $150/head. Ram lambs were $20 dearer on an improved selection and sold from $124 to $140/head. Hoggets gained $10 on increased demand and sold from $111 to $160/head or to average 505c/kg cwt. In the ewe mutton market, light weight boners to 18kg sold at $75, medium weight boners weighing 19 to 24kg sold from $93 to $135/head, with the top of the market holding heavy fleeces remaining firm. Local butchers scrambled to procure their requirements from the few prime lambs penned and as a result light and trade lambs gained $10, with heavy lambs up $20/head. The shortage of supply kept the rest of the market firm to $10/head dearer. Today's market toppers were heavy lambs at $208, ram lambs at $181, hoggets at $158, wethers at $168 and heavy ewes at $165/head. In the lamb section, particularly the airfreight types, the light 13 to 17kg range made from $70 to $135, up $10/head at near 750c/kg cwt. Again a light yarding was penned with reduced numbers of prime lambs which caused a general lift of $5 to $8/head on all types to the trade. Values ranged from 635c to 700c/kg cwt . Hoggets remained firm at 550c/kg cwt, with prime ewe mutton selling from 550c to 600c/kg cwt and up from $10 to $15/head. Wether's were of a heavier weight and much improved quality and gained $25/head to make 600c/kg cwt. In the lamb section, there was no disparity in prices between old and new seasons lambs. The very light weight lambs up to 12kg sold to graziers from $65 to $75/head. All lambs gained $5 apart from the ram lambs that were $8/head dearer. The 14 to 17 kg air freight types to the trade sold from $90 to $124/head. The 18 to 20kg light trade lambs sold from $122 to $131/head to average 640c/kg cwt. Muchea sheep and lamb sale penned 11,183 head, up 8,000 for an again a poor quality yarding. The extra numbers had an adverse effect on the lamb market where airfreight types eased from $5 to $10/head. The light trade lambs eased by $10 with the heavies down $20/head. The ideal trade weights 21 to 22kg remained firm as did the the entire mutton market. Hoggets and ram lambs took a fall to $20/head mainly due to a poorer quality offering on these types. Today's market toppers were heavy lambs at $175, ram lambs at $155, hoggets at $140, wethers at $160 and heavy ewes at $165/head. In the lamb section particularly the airfreight types, light weights 13 to 17kg sold from, $60 to $125, down $10 at near 650c, the 18 to 20kg to processors made from, $120 to $140, down $10/head at near 660c/kg cwt. Sheep 2,370 - Change 70 Numbers increased by 1,115 with 8,103 head penned. The quality eased slightly however rates remained relatively firm throughout. Heavy wethers were the exception, gaining $30 on short supply. In the lamb market, values were firm throughout. The light weight 0 to 12kg lambs sold to graziers from $30 to $80 with the 12 to 16kg range lambs to graziers making from $70 to $125/head. The 16 to 20kg range sold from $122 to $153/head to average 750c/kg cwt. The 21 to 22kg range lambs sold to the trade and feedlots from $145 to $177/head, to average 770c/kg cwt. The 23kg plus prime lambs were of outstanding quality and sold from $172 to $220/head, averaging near 810c/kg cwt and were the pick of the lambs. Best ewe mutton made $145 while wethers topped at $142/head. New season light weight lambs dressing from 12 to 18kg cwt made from $79 to $129, while trade weights sold for $120 to $148/head. Muchea sheep and lamb sale penned 9,620 head down 1,600 on last week in an overall reduced quality yarding with very few prime lambs penned and the reduction in numbers having a positive effect on price. Mutton was $4 to $5 dearer whilst lambs were from $5 to $10/head dearer. Strong grazier demand on the lighter lambs pushed that sector and the light penning of prime types saw increased trade competition. In the lamb section there was not a lot of variation in price on new and old seasons lambs. The light weight lambs 12 to 16kg sold from $70 to $117/head to feeder buyers. The airfreight lambs 17 to 18 kg were $5 dearer and sold from $110 to $120/head or 700c/kg cwt. The prime light trade lambs 19 to 20kg were scarce and gained $10/head to average 650c/kg and sell from $120 to $130/head. The prime trade weight 21 to 22kg lambs were fewer in number and sold from $129 to $149/head. Heavy lambs sold to a top of $157/head or 625c/kg cwt. Values lifted by $10 a head on heavy lambs at near 800c/kg cwt and topped at $236. The 17 to 22 kg lambs to feedlots and the trade eased $5 and sold between 680 to 750c/kg cwt. Light weight 13 to 16kg lambs to graziers gained $5 at near 750c kg cwt. Ram lambs were of superior quality to last week and gained $30, they sold to top at $199. Hoggets remained firm at near 610c/kg cwt and sold up to $193.The best heavy wethers sold to $200, a gain of $20 at near 600c/kg cwt. In the mutton market, A gain of $8 was evident throughout, with near 600c/kg cwt the common price. Heavy ewes sold to $201. In the lamb market, the light 0 to 12kg lambs sold to restockers at rates firm on last week. They sold from $40 to $75. A marginal increase in quality that was evident on the heavy hoggets to the trade and also heavy wethers to processors with gains of $15/head with 500c/kg cwt the average. Prime ewe mutton gained $8 at near 540c, air freight and ram lambs were $5/head dearer with the air freights at near 660c/kg cwt. Trade lambs remained firm at close to 610c/kg cwt however demand on heavy lambs slipped $5 to $10/head. In the lamb section, new seasons light weight lambs 13 to 17kg, sold to processors from $70 to $120 at near 660c up $5, they were pushed by graziers who paid from $65 to $116 at 700c, the corresponding old seasons lambs made to $114 up $5/head at near 650c/kg. The light weight 18 to 20kg new seasons lambs were $5 dearer and sold from $120 to $137, at near 660c, with the corresponding old seasons lambs up by $5 selling to $126/head at 610c/kg cwt. Muchea cattle market penned 865 head an increase from last week in an average quality yarding. Values softened on both local and pastoral yearling steers by 40c and the local yearling heifers were easier by 20c/kg with quality the influencing factor. On a positive note, local weaner steers gained 15c and heavy prime cows and bulls were up by some 13c/kg due to stronger demand. In the weaner portion of the yarding, the local weaner steers to feeders sold from 358c to 548c improving some 15c/kg. The corresponding pastoral weaner steers sold from 270c to 410c/kg selling to a firm market. Local weaner heifers sold from 380c to 480c/kg again reflecting a firm market. The pastoral weaner heifers sold from 232c to 412c/kg. Yearling steers to the trade sold from 330c to 380c a reduction of some 40c/kg on the previous market. Pastoral yearling steers sold from 280c to 350c again back 40c/kg with quality being the influencing factor. Market movers today were the local weaners lifting by 5c and yearlings to feeders were up from 30c to 50c/kg. Manufacturing cattle gained from 10c to 20c/kg with a return to a full compliment of buyers. In the weaner portion of the yarding, the local prime weaner steers to feeders sold from 406c to 438c/kg, the corresponding pastoral weaner steers sold from 342c to 390c/kg to remain firm. Prime local weaner heifers sold from 350c to 438c whilst the 2 score pastoral weaner heifers made from 176c to 414c/kg to remain firm. In the lamb section, the best new seasons sold from $129 to $150, or 630c/kg cwt, down $15/head. In the old season lamb section, that contained the majority of today's overall penning, the light 13 to 17kg, made from $78 to $117 down $5, lambs 18 to 20kg to processors sold from $110 to $124 firm. The very few trade weight 22kg lambs made from $120 to $146 down $5/head, to make 600c/kg cwt. Heavier lambs sold from $145 to $160 and were the best on offer today, selling nearer 620c/kg cwt, but were down $20/head. 14.09.2021 MUCHEA LIVESTOCK CENTRE (MLC) CHRISTMAS SHUTDOWN REMINDER Dear staff, customers and users of the Muchea Livestock Centre (MLC). Please note that a Christmas shutdown is planned to take place at MLC during the period from Thursday 23 December to Midnight Friday 7 January.... This means that: The final livestock auction sales will be held on: o Monday 20 December 2021 - Cattle o Tuesday 21 December 2021 - Sheep All livestock must depart the MLC premises by mid-night on Wednesday December 22, 2021. WAMIA will not accept any receivables until 12.01am on Saturday 8 January 2022. The next scheduled livestock sale will commence on Monday 10 January 2022. The MLC main gates will be closed during this period and only the truck wash facilities will be operational to MLC access card holders. If you have any issues or concerns during this period, the MLC Caretaker will be contactable during this time. WAMIA’s Administrative Office will be closed from 4.30pm on Wednesday 23 December 2021 and will re-open for business on Monday 10 January 2022. 10.09.2021 MUCHEA LIVESTOCK CENTRE CATTLE SALE Monday 20th December 2021 Comparison Date 13/12/2021 Yarding 1,368 Change -432... Muchea cattle market yarded 1368 head, down 430 on last week in a lesser quality yarding and values fluctuated, influenced by the quality presented. The general trend was an easing on local weaner and yearling steers by 20c to 30c/kg. Pastoral weaner heifers were down by 100c with yearling heifers up 30c/kg. In the mature section grown steers gained 10c, grown heifers eased 20c with prime cows and bulls up 10c to 20c/kg. In the pastoral section weaner and yearling steers remained firm and sold from 388c to 540c/kg. Weaner heifers were of poor quality and sold from 220c to 320c, down by 100c/kg. Yearling heifers at 360c to 440c gained 30c/kg. Grown steers gained 10c and sold at mainly 440c, with grown heifers down 20c at 288c to 358c/kg. Cows were keenly sought with heavy prime up 10c and sold from 305c to 342c/kg. Similarly best prime bulls met solid competition and sold from 270c to 370c to be 20c/kg dearer.
