01.01.2022 October is an exciting month for the Regional Centre for Culture 2018, with several major projects being rolled out in the Maryborough and surrounding area, inc...luding Circus Oz. Master weaver Aunty Marilyne Nicholls is hosting a ten-week weaving workshop at Maryborough's Tren DuBourg Hall. The workshop costs only $100 for the entire ten-session course, and the completed works will go on show in the new exhibition Never-ending Journey which is on at Tren DuBourg Hall in Maryborough. Never-ending Journey brings together the work of Aunty Marilyne Nicholls and printmaker and painter Nyrel Saunders. The show will feature prints, hangings, sculpture and video alongside historical mining equipment to explore the history and changes that have incured in the Central Goldfields region since the gold rush. Entry to the exhibition is free. The premiere screening of the Short Flix Festival will take place on October 13th between 7pm and 9pm. The cost is free, but bookings are essential. This will be held at the Paramount Theatre. Circus Oz is rolling into Maryborough for one day only for a free series of children’s workshops, music, entertainment and of course circus performances. Since launching in 1978, Circus Oz has gone on to perform in 27 different countries and earn a reputation as the Aussie rock ‘n’ roll larrikins of the circus world. The Station Domain event, to be held on Sunday 14th October between 10am and 4pm, will see young Central Goldfields Shire residents perform alongside the Circus Oz team. Acclaimed artist JOF is looking for 100 guitarists to play the Metallica hit Enter Sandman live as part of Circus Oz. Those interested can call 0455 627 610. Seasonal Bush Tucker Feast & Exhibition is a seasonal feast, catered by Myrnong Mammas, with Indigenous ingredients. This will take place on October 27 from midday until 4pm at the Maldon Neighbourhood Centre. Cost is just $30 per person, with bookings required to be made via (03) 5475 2093. Mucklefest will take place October 27-28 with trains, tractor pull, engine displays, historical cars, working Sandy Creek Clydesdales, blacksmith and more. 01.01.2022 JOIN THE FUN AT MUCKLEFEST Join us on Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th of October for a real country vintage machinery rally with not only old engines but ...Cars, Clydesdales, Crafts, Blacksmith, Kids Activities, Jumping Castle, Market, Music, Food Stalls and much more! There’s plenty here for everyone in the family. The Goldfields Railway will be taking the wonderfully ancient and rarely used Victorian Colonial Express carriages from Castlemaine to Muckleford, returning in the afternoon. Arrive in style on our steam hauled trains! As well as the 1880’s carriages we will showcase one of our Steam Locomotives PLUS a range of old fashioned gangers’ trolleys. Leaving Castlemaine at 10am and returning you at 3pm your fare includes entry to Mucklefest.
