25.01.2022 BUNDALEER % BOLSTER? After a slight little hiccup the week before we went into the last minor round game equal top with the other 3 teams but poor percentage. Needing a big win to grab the double chance luck didnt go our way from the get go, loosing the toss and sent into bowl. The two skippers opened up and in the 6th over cooper broke through with a wicket that had the bundies 1/24 thanks to a regulation catch behind from cam mac.Dougal came on to replace the skipper and b...owled tight with jay barker to keep the visitors at bay, and with hagger n clark not really going after the bowlers bundaleer got to drinks 1/62. Not much changed after the break with the visitors looking like just settling for a score instead of making one. With score at 1/103 taylor came back on with 10 overs remaining and removed matt hagger for 63 and not long after sent beyer and r.clark packing to see the score finish at 4/161with d.clark not out 49, Taylor 3/37(8) .Not taking the 10 wicket had seriously put the % in doubt and probably now needing too chase the total none down. But things didn't get off to a good start with jake Scutcheon bowled for a duck 1/4. Dyson got going with a few boundaries but he was bowled for 14 and nick McCallum was trapped lbw for 1as clayton pycroft ripped through the top order taking 3/23 off hes 8 leaving wilm/mel at 3/30 and now in serious doubt of not only loosing but not even making the top 4. But like all good teams thats were it ended for bundaleer as shannon jones(45*) and dougal milne(72*) put on a batting masterclass, as the pair shared an unbeaten partnership of 133 to get the home team over the line and cement a spot in the playoffs, unfortunately we didn't have a high enough % and finished fourth meaning a home final was out of the question. Today we head too Jamestown to play bel/man, the robinson boys are back with cody Scutcheon but we will be without shannon jones , ryan slee and jake Scutcheon. This will be no easy game againts a quality oppent, although we do have a very well balanced team to bring home the cookies GOODLUCK everyone today as we look to do our two towns , supporters and sponsors proud CAPT TUBBY See more

16.01.2022 START OF THE SECOND 1/2 OF THE YEAR. After missing out on our 1st home game the week before, the mudcrabs couldn't be more excited to get out and put a show on for their faithful supporters. Tubby Taylor was keen too break a run of 8 consecutive coin toss losses and that said and done he didn't, and off the boys went fielding for the 8th time in a row. Sheehan and woods opened up the batting too Taylor n woolford and like he has so many times this year before the skipper str...Continue reading

10.01.2022 Round 3 kicked off at the dry lands in Pekina on saturday but when arriving and after 10mm of rain the night before and that morning there was a element of surprise. Puddles and tinge of cover on the oval had transformed the once dust bowl into an actual playing surface and with the sky opening up the weather was fine to begin play. The captain took his usual approach and stuck with tails for the toss but with another head landing upwards it was off to bowl for the 3rd week ...Continue reading

06.01.2022 Just a reminder for next saturday 21st at the oval

06.01.2022 Pre final warm up A trip too booberowie to face the red hot defending champs was the occasion on Saturday and a ground that wasn't to familiar was the scene. Tubby won the toss for a third straight game and was now officially the best tosser in the comp. With at least 6 or 7 first choice players out of action it was a good chance for others too step up and put there hands up for finals selection. We Got off to a poor start tho when run machine Ryan slee fell early for 1. T...his brought tubby too the crease to join bestie Shannon Jones and the pair started to put on a good partnership for the second wicket of 37 when Jones was caught for 13 at 2/41. Taylor was joined by cam mac but that didn't last long with the skipper gone shortly after for 20. Micky slee joined mac and they got too work and guided us too drinks at 3/48, Michael slee was continuing he's good form and cam mac was doing what cam mac does. The pair where looking good until cam was caught for 17 @4/71 the vc came too the crease and 10 runs later he was gone for and that's when Mick slee started thrusting that big rig behind his willow and pulled off some big boundaries. But he was stumped for a game high 28 leaving the score at 6/94 with 6 overs left and an inexperience tail wagged to get the score at all out 108, with josh Robinson not out 11 and Tommy "I just love a beer" Woolford had he's first taste of a bat making 1 towards the end. With not much too play with the champs raced too 41 when they lost Zac fielding for 34 off the bowling of Cooper Woolfood. They then chased the total down with 9 wickets left but we did managed to bowl 30 overs, Tommy woolford topped off a good day when he rolled his arm over for the first time this year returning 2 overs 0/4, special mention too the 2 Robinson boys coming up from and Adelaide and bringing a mate Liam kerrison and everyone that fielded that kept us in the game for most of the day. Week off this week then it's serious time with the local scratch match bool/willowie then burra followed by bundaleer cheers tubby. See more

05.01.2022 Players, members , supporters and sponsors hello and welcome to the 2020/2021 cricket naca association year. After falling short last year in the finals we are keen too go 2 better this year. First off I would like to welcome everyone that would like to be apart of the club again this year , after a horrid run with covid 19 during the football season and 2020 we are hoping for a more pleasant cricket season in this warmer weather and future beyond. This year has already bee...n interrupted by a delay with the football season so we will be starting a little bit later than usual. This year we will be starting on the 31st October with a home game against bundaleer at melrose, we will continue with games right up until the 19th dec before the Christmas bye and then play will resume on the 9/1/21. There will be a week off on the long weekend of January and then matches to be played right up until the 20/2/21 and then finals begins on the 27th feb. This year we will be hosting the cricket grandfinal on the 13th march @ wilmington oval. The club will be holding our first training session for present, past and any new players at the wilmington oval on October the 10th at 10 30 am. This will go for 1 and 1/2 hours followed by our clubs AGM for the upcoming season. We will be then having last year's club presentation starting at 130 with a bbq and beverages on offer which we would love to see everyone there. I would also like to announce that during some home games this year we have organised a few show to allow the cricket club to make some money for things such as new nets up at wilmington oval so our little ones coming through have decent facilities for the future, all tho there are some grants available we as a club still need to pitch in with cost so any fund raising is helpful and appreciated. With as many as 5 home games im sure we can achieve this outcome. On the 21st November we have a home game againts burra last years eventual winners, on this day we are hosting a ladies day which we hope will help generate some takings to help with cost such as oval hire and new nets and to keep junior cricket alive within wilmington and melrose. I look forward to seeing as many faces as possible on Saturday the 10th October too help start this cricket season and to make sure the future of our club remains safe and strong cheers tubby and the club. 04.01.2022 Ok guys next saturday is our first major fundraiser for the year. We are looking to help raise funds for our new cricket nets. Myself, shannon jones, Dan peverall and Ryan slee have been working very hard to ensure the upgrades of the nets so our little ones have them for the future. As you know these things cost money and even with grants the costs are expensive. So we would like to invite anybody that would like to join us next saturday 21st at the wilmo oval to celebrate ladies day. There will be platters for the girls during the game and then a bbq and drinks (beer, cider , redbears and cc n dry cans on sale for $5 ) details below please get out and come up to support this day .

03.01.2022 Round 2 kicked off with our first home game of the year at Melrose on Saturday vs bel-man , with a new pitch and a lush oval the scene was set for two teams fresh off wins and looking 2 go 2-0 to start the season. After loosing the toss and getting sent into bowl for the 2nd straight week it didn't take long for the skipper too get going picking up a wicket with just the second ball of his over leaving the visitors 1/1. Things dried up from there on though with young gun will...Continue reading

02.01.2022 Hey guys gals and supporters and the mudcrabs family. With Christmas and New year's complete we move on with the crucial part of the season the lead up to finals. Leading into Xmas we had a top of the table clash against bel-man at Jamestown with the winner to gain the all important top spot, I finally got that illusive coin toss victory for the first time and had no hesitation to bat. With a solid line up we dominated early and finished well with the victory, posting a handy... 207 off our 40 overs and bowling bel-man out for 187. Highlights of the game came with micky Dyson smashing 46 in under 11 overs and Nick mccallum with a high score of 75 not out and some late power hitting by des taylor 41. With a great start 2/74 we had another middle order collapse losing 4/20 to be 5 for 94 but nicko and tubby put on 70 for the 6th wicket too get the score at 6/164 and young Adrian Holden and Nick put on a 42 run partnership too get the score at 7/207. We then controlled the game with some excellent bowling and not so great fielding with Cody scutcheon having 4 drop catches of his bowling. Taylor and Jones both picked up 3 each and singles too lochie Rob and Cody finally just took it apon himself to get a wicket by clean bowling the last batter all in all an important victory. First game back after the break was against Pekina at wilmington, and with Pekina missing a swag of players including 9 first picked starters the game was well and truly in our favour. I managed too win the toss for a second consecutive week and had no hesitation too bat. All tho we posted a modest 177 the ball wasn't coming on to the bat that well which made it difficult for the batsmen to score. Highlight of the innings seen lj mccallum top score with 36, cam mac 25, Ryan slee 24, Mick slee batting at 3 chipped in with 21 and sundries made an appearance with 25 also. Pekina started well with 3/74 but probably lacked batting depth and lost there last 7 wickets for 50 too be bundled out for 124 with young Jay barker snapping up 3/19, dougal 2/27 and singles too Taylor, woolford and Adrian Holden. With that win in the bag and some other results going our way with 4 games left we sit atop of the ladder by 1 game clear of second and alog jammed middle order. Today we travel too booberowie to play another team that's inform Spalding with both teams on a four game winning streak looking to make it 5. We have a week off for Australia day weekend next week followed by booleroo away then the last 2 week's at home with our sponsors day being on the 8th February at wilmo were there will be a big bbq and hopefully some live music to show our appreciation for the sponsors and our supporters, we will be wearing our supporters shirts in this game so please spread the word and get as many people down to cheer us on against the old enemy Burra Cheers captain tubby. 01.01.2022 TOP OF THE TABLE The biggest trip of the year was the go and the drive too burra was the destination. With top spot up for grabs and and potentially a home final down the track, this was going too be a classic. The day kicked off with the coin toss and 0-5 so far this year the visting captain was looking for a change of luck, but like every other flip this year the skip once again come undone and for the sixth straight time he grabbed his troops and out they went to bowl. Coo...Continue reading
