19.01.2022 This Saturday we have another tour! We meet on the corner of Market and Church Streets, at the clock tower on the Anglican Church corner. Please book via 0467 506 273 or facebook messages. $15 per person, everyone welcome! This building is located in Market Street and was built in 1927, as the Rural Bank. The land on which it stands was originally owned by the Anglican Church. In 1926 the Church was in financial difficulty, and decided to sell off the land which the old rectory stood (where the minister wouldve lived). The rectory was demolished in 1927 to make way for the bank. The new rectory was also built later that year. Allegedly, the Anglican cemetery was also on this site, and only the headstones were removed! Find out more on Saturday!

Above is a stunning shot of Market Street looking East. Market Street was the original Main Street in Mudgee, until tge road over Cherry Tree Mountain (the road to Sydney) in the late 1890s. Following this traffic came through town down Church Street, and in turn it became the Main Street. Find out more on Saturday!

This is an old photograph of Market street looking east. On the left is the old Kelletts department store. Kelletts was built in 1907 but sadly burnt down in 1977. On the right is the former Post Office Hotel, now the Wineglass. This building was built in 1852 and was the stop for the Cobb & Co Coach. Find out more on Saturday!
