24.01.2022 It’s Yellow Ribbon Day! A day to show our support to our hard-working Rural Fire Service (RFS) volunteers On this day last year, were were already on the front-line fighting devastating fires near Canungra, Beechmont & Binna Burra. There’s more than 30,000 of them across the state and we can’t thank them enough for all they do.

24.01.2022 Meet our crew! These are the volunteers who help keep Mudgeeraba safe :-)

23.01.2022 Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there :-) & to all our Dads who volunteer to protect our community

22.01.2022 We will be conducting a HR burn near Little Nerang Rd today. You may see smoke in the air.

22.01.2022 Check your pets are safe

22.01.2022 Mudgeeraba and other gold coast crews are currently fighting a fire in Springbrook.

21.01.2022 So you know :-)

21.01.2022 Our crews are back in action today working to contain the Springbrook fire.

18.01.2022 This morning our Operational Support Unit team is going through their training on deploying essential equipment to support incidents. They have deployed to a Ha...zard Reduction Burn that is being conducted by Mudgeeraba RFB. The Operational Support Unit is mostly funded by the Rural Fire Levy collected from Gold Coast residents. State provide the radio equipment, lap top computers and PPE but all other equipment has been purchased from donations and levy monies. This is how crucial the funding for RFS is so this support unit can keep operating. See more

14.01.2022 A fantastic tribute

13.01.2022 More storms possible again today. We're hoping your tanks are all filling up?

12.01.2022 A FIRE BAN will start at midnight tonight (Friday 27th Nov) until midnight Wednesday (2nd Dec) for GOLD COAST & surrounding areas. Gas bbqs, fires in safe fire pits (suburban areas only) are permitted but please keep water close & don't leave them unattended.

11.01.2022 There are some people you should call in an emergency, and others you definitely should not! You should always phone Triple Zero (000) immediately in an emerge...ncy. If you see smoke or fire, regardless of the size, do not assume someone else will alert QFES. Nearly all large fires were once little fires and we consider these an emergency act quickly as time is of the essence! Remember, do NOT phone your local Fire Warden, Rural Fire Service brigade or Fire & Rescue station. These firefighters may not be in the station and this delays any response to the incident. The number to ring is Triple Zero (000).

11.01.2022 Our volunteers who deployed to NSW during the bushfires last year have been awarded a NSW Govt Citation. We're so proud of the time, effort & dedication of our members (and their families) who give so much to help the Australian community when called upon.

11.01.2022 A little bit warm today with hotter & windier conditions expected. Please hold off on any pile burns that you were thinking of lighting :-)

09.01.2022 Mudgeeraba crews worked till very late last night fighting a fire in the swamp land behind Palm Meadows with other local crews. The $1.00 levy that the Gold Coast community contribute through their council levies is integral to allowing us to provide this vital service to the community. We are hoping that with your community support that the council will continue to collect the levy on the Ratepayers behalf and support us to support you. All monies received are audited and accounted, support local businesses as well as ensuring local needs are met. We thank you for your ongoing support.

09.01.2022 The next 3 days will see our area return to VERY HIGH fire danger. We encourage you to avoid burning any piles unless they're in a properly prepared fire pit. Please keep a live hose nearby just in case https://www.ruralfire.qld.gov.au/Pages/FDR.aspx

09.01.2022 Mudgeeraba has crews working at Springbrook tonight and ongoing tomorrow supporting other GC brigades control the current wildfire. Thanks for all your kind messages and support

08.01.2022 The next couple of days will see increased fire weather. At this time there is NO FIRE BAN in place on the Gold Coast but normal rules apply. No fire should exceed 2m in any direction. We STRONGLY suggest that you put off burning for the next 3 days. As always, if you see a fire (not smoke), please call 000

07.01.2022 These guys do a fantastic job feeding our crews on the ground. If you'd like to support them, see springbrooks post

07.01.2022 Enjoy the local entertainment & food :-)

05.01.2022 Lest we Forget....

05.01.2022 A quick update on the current fire season https://www.abc.net.au//spring-bushfire-outlook-i/12611648

05.01.2022 ***Springbrook Fire Update*** The fire at Springbrook is on the West escarpment near the split road and is still burning, mostly in inaccessible areas. Multiple Gold Coast brigades along with Mudgeeraba are currently working to contain & extinguish it. There are aircraft mapping the fire currently and water bombing has been requested.... Fire command is set up at Apple Tree park, so please avoid the area and watch out for trucks and fire fighters coming and going. SLOW DOWN. There's smoke, trucks and people moving around the Apple Tree Flats / Split road area.

05.01.2022 Many crews are on the Carrara fire currently. It's burning between Gooding Drive & Neilsons Rd. Please go to the Rural Fire map via Google for updates

04.01.2022 Looks like we have storms incoming. Please make sure you secure outdoor furniture & play equipment.

04.01.2022 REMINDER.............We STILL have a FIRE BAN in place until midnight Wednesday. If you see any fire please call 000 immediately.

04.01.2022 Well done to all our volunteers who turned out to help at the Carrara fire. We had crews there for the whole time working in almost zero visibility on Tuesday night through to patrolling hotspots last night. Rural volunteers don't just fight fires in the bush... we fight all over the Gold Coast (and other areas) in these many parcels of land that back onto homes. We give up our work & family time to keep the Gold Coast safe. Remember, the people in the ORANGE uniforms in YELLOW trucks are NOT paid

02.01.2022 Looks like we could be seeing some SEVERE thunderstorms tomorrow. Please make sure to tidy light items so they don’t become missiles into your neighbour’s house
