24.01.2022 You've spent hours on driving lessons and safety and now it's time for your child to obtain their first car. 22.01.2022 It's enough to make grown adults shudder! The dreaded engine light. What do you do when they light up? First, check your owner’s manual. It will tell you what your dashboard light means. Generally, a good rule of thumb is, red light, get help now. These are sometimes related to car, driver and passenger safety. ... If it's a yellow light, check it out as soon as possible. Understanding your car and what it is trying to tell you is the first step to maintaining control of your car and it's the beginning of a much easier and confidence conversation with you mechanic. 18.01.2022 With the warmer weather approaching, it makes sense to seek shelter from the shade of a tree when parking your car. But, be careful which tree you choose. Falling sap, flowers, leaves and bird droppings can all do damage to your paintwork.

14.01.2022 With another warm week approaching and it's not even summer yet, we thought we'd share some early summer car cooling tips. What's your favourite tip or have you got one to add? 1. Use a sunshade or window visor. This is a tried-and-true method of keeping your car cool. And to keep it even cooler for long periods by putting a sunshade in your rear window as well. 2. Use a dash cover. A fabric or upholstered dash covers can help keep your car’s interior more comfortable. They a...lso protect sensitive vinyl from sun damage that can cause cracking and fading. 3. Cover your steering wheel with a towel. Even if you use a sunshade, it’s a good idea to cover your steering wheel with a small towel. This will help to keep the contact temperature of your steering wheel down. 4. Park in a shady area. If you’re going to be somewhere for an extended period of time, it’s worth a slightly longer walk in order to park in the shade. 5. Although this won't keep your car cool, it may save you some heartache. Remember to keep your important possessions out of the sun or heat of a parked car in summer. Phones, tablets, laptops, CDs or even makeup and food can be kept in eskies, but if you are having to park your car in the heat of the day - perhaps take these items with you or leave them at home. 6. Park in a garage or under shelter when possible. Whenever possible, park in a garage. Your car will be out of direct sunlight and will have the benefit of near-constant shade. Even a warm garage beats being parked in the sun all day. 7. Keep windows slightly cracked. It’s not a good idea to leave your windows all the way open ever, but even a small crack will promote ventilation and help to keep your car cool. (Make sure there is no rain on the horizon. 8. Purchase a solar-powered fan. A fawn and slightly cracked windows work to expel hot air from your car by creating constant air circulation. 9. Use seat covers or throw towels or blankets over your seats. Vinyl or leather seats can be downright painful when exposed to sunlight and high temperatures. 10. Crank up your air con and leave your car doors open for a few minutes before you get into your car. This will help the hot air exit and the cool air cool down the car. See more

09.01.2022 These are the top 4 reasons why people prefer to use a local, independent mechanic like ours over mainstream dealership mechanics: 1.You'll get to know your mechanic. It's a real positive to have a mechanic who not only gets to know you, but gets to know your vehicle as well. 2.Our mechanics are just as trained and if not more broadly experienced across a range of makes. 3.Greater access to a wide variety of services. We provide a wide range of services, parts and labour warranties and parts, and where possible, also offer less expensive parts to save our customers money. 4.Our local reputation is important to us. 08.01.2022 Do you know the answer to this question? What's the most important thing in this picture? > > >... The answer is .... the car! Don't forget to have your car serviced regularly, especially before you head off into the great outdoors. See more

04.01.2022 Sometimes, something as simple as dirty rims can cause high speed vibration in your car, almost feeling as bad as a bent rim or damaged tire. If suddenly you feel a vibration while driving and you have recently driven on muddy terrain, don't immediately think the worst. It could be that your car needs a good wash. BUT, if it continues after a good wash, you'd better give us a call, unknown vibration can also mean a bigger problem like a bent and unbalanced rim, damaged tire or worn suspension bushings.
04.01.2022 There are some relationships in life that are far more important than others. And the one you have with your mechanic is one of them! Having a dedicated mechanic you can trust, rely on and build a relationship with not only keeps your car healthy, but gives you great peace of mind too.
