22.01.2022 At this point, we are still racing on Sunday. That situation may change, depending on advice from the Health Department. But we do need a volunteer for the BBQ. Regular chef Tony wont be able to cook, so please let us know if you can help feed us.

22.01.2022 Cowra Interclub cancelled (as one would expect). Congratulations to all club members who raced - from the smoky Interclub in Mudgee, the dusty and Eltony race in Bathurst, the drought affect race in Orange and the rain in Dubbo. Quite a season really.

21.01.2022 Our last race of the season was a little foggy and a touch cold, but the Club handicap race was still a lot of fun and intense racing. The handicapper did well with some close times at the end- except for Kieren. His true form was shown, without the 18km run before hand. 1st Kieren Bennetts, 2nd Ronda Gainsford, 3rd Chris Freeman. 21.01.2022 Its almost a year since our dear friend Soolan was taken from us and we are remembering her with a group ride Saturday 15/08/20. We will leave from the Mudgee Clock Tower at 8am for a 50km or 25km ride. If you cant meet up with us, dedicate your ride to her that day. We all miss her determination and her huge smile.

18.01.2022 We are approaching the end of our Triathlon Season, with one more points scoring round this Sunday, 15th March before our final Championship race in April. Check out the current points below: Little & Big Devils Points http://bit.ly/2vU4ulR... Super Sprint Points http://bit.ly/38EXw1b Long Course Points http://bit.ly/330pUKe Eleven points are given for first place in each event category, down to 1 point for 11th (only active members receive points). Points are accrued for the first six club races of the season (including our Mudgee Interclub/Race 2). In January, as there was no Long Course event - points were given based on your usual race distance. You must race at least three times to be eligible for an award.

Plan is for a low key session , followed by pizza and byo drinks in the rotunda afterwards, and as there’s no Christmas get together at the golf club this year, any Triathlon members are welcome. Running - 6pm, pizza approx 7pm , or a little earlier. This will be rain dependent. Watch for updates, may just do pizza !!!

07.01.2022 Well it certainly wasnt the end to the season that anyone predicted, and an early finish meant we missed out of one of the most eagerly awaited events of the year our Long Course Handicap. Weve already been approached by the winner of last years event, asking us to engrave his name on the perpetual trophy for 2020, since technically, he hasnt been beaten. On what should have been our final race of the season , we thought we share some laughs from last year... ... April 2019, after discussing who should write a post-race article for The Guardian, the Tri Club received this ______________________________ "The Mudgee Tri Club wrapped up another successful season with their annual Club Champs race, the presentation and an end of season party yesterday. The committee and dedicated volunteers were out early as usual setting up for this special event, just as they have done for the other 6 races held throughout the season. The weather was also perfect for racing, and few of those arriving to race would have realised that they were about to become part of club history. The story that unfolded in the Blue Ribboned Long Course event, often dubbed The Grand Final of races for the season, was a truly remarkable tale of spirit and strength through adversity from a remarkable athlete. From the moment that Ed George arrived to prepare for his race, those that knew him could sense that there was something different about him. There was a steely look in his dashing blue eyes. Matt Webster, another of Mudgees elite triathletes, said that he was blown away by Georges performance. I just couldnt catch him. Webster said, He just put the hammer down when needed. For George it was a touching moment of personal triumph, and one that he put down to the support he got from his family. To have them there cheering for me as I crossed the line was something that kept me going he said. It is truly a tale of success through adversity as George had been unable to walk less than 6 months ago. His physio, Ronda Gainsford, said when he came to see me I did not know if he would walk again, let alone become a champion. What an athlete. _____________________________

Well, we would love you to send some feedback, requesting inclusion of an indoor pool in Mudgee as one of their projects. Either follow the feedback links, or send an email to [email protected], asking them to include a proposal for an indoor pool for 2020/21.

05.01.2022 Last year we had a special award for the first female over 50 at Mudgee Interclub. The Soolan Clifford Award, in memory of the amazing, always smiling Soolan. Last year the inaugural winner was long time friend Narelle Quinn. This year it was Estelle Dean from Orange. Congratulations Estelle.
