After the doozy of 2020 we might be left feeling a little cautious and unsure about pinning our hopes on 2021. In previous years, the saying goodbye to the old and bringing in the new offered us the opportunity to discard the blunders of the months gone by and set new goals, make plans to rise above our flaws, and to scale to new heights.... But this year I believe that, instead of shedding the past, we should draw on the wisdom derived from introspection throughout 2020 to create intentions. The transition from 2020 to 2021 holds more potential and is laden with a transformational power so much greater than we can possibly imagine. The coronavirus pandemic has brought change to almost every part of our lives how we live, where we live, how we work, what family means, and what is really important to us. There have been months in lockdown where our world has been on pause, causing many of us to dig into existential questions: What is my purpose? Where do I belong? What really matters? This time of isolation and introversion in 2020 has given us the brilliant opportunity to truly reflect on what it is we would most like to see manifest in our lives. It's one of the more difficult poses to master and, needs to be done correctly or it can cause injury. This post requires long hamstrings, flexible spine and shoulders, and solid upper body strength. It's important to ensure you're focused, conditioned, and using proper technique before attempting the pose on your own.

18.01.2022 MEET OUR TEACHERS - Nikki returned to living in Melbourne this year after spending the past 14 years dancing abroad with her home base in New York city. While in new York Nikki taught fitness classes at 'Body by Simone' in Chelsea and at the 'Alo' flagship store in Soho. She was the head HIIT trainer for the Nike women's training weekend in Melbourne at Margaret court arena in 2016 . Nikki trained to be a dancer at various schools such as the Australian ballet school, Broadwa...y dance center NYC, Steps (NYC) and graduated from VCASS in Melbourne, Australia. Her professional performing and musical theatre credits include West Side Story Australian and world tour, principle dancer on amazon prime’s ‘Marvelous Mrs Maisel’, Disney cruise line, spirit productions (Canada, USA), Royal Caribbean (aerialist) , Mamma Mia (ensemble), Kiss me Kate. Nikki participated in Broadway dance lab’s spring 2018 cycle as a swing, has danced for Alma dance company, Broadway cares equity fights aids (BCEFA) for many events, benefits, music videos and concerts in New York City. nikki has completed her yoga teacher training with power living, is a certified health coach and personal trainer. nikki's classes are inspiring and fun.

She is the founder and principle teacher of Mudita yoga studio, Melbourne, Australia. Gina has dedicated her life to the study and practice of yoga and meditation. By studying and practicing with various teachers globally, teaching classes, workshops and trainings, writing, mentoring and service, Gina shares the gif...ts of her practice, discipleship and life with a wide range of students. 10.01.2022 So yesterday was a day of turmoil for me, and seeking some enlightenment or wisdom I thought of the Buddha and how in mythology was born under a tree, became enlightened under a tree, taught under a tree and died under a tree. And with a prayer for some sort of miracle, epiphany or revelation, I sat down under a tree to meditate. The words of the wonderful teacher Jack Kornfield began to ring true in my ears, ‘meditation isn’t necessary about having a mystical experience, b...ut about coming back to the natural experience of being alive’ ...being alive... My eyes began to focus on the blade of grass, the sun shimmering on the water and the more I let go of the need to react, even just chatter in my own mind like ‘hey, look there’s a duck ‘, the more I fell into presence. And with this surrender it was as if a 3D switch had been turned on in my brain, I lost complete awareness of self as the humming of nature was turned up to full volume. I’m not sure if this awareness lasted 2 seconds or 5 minutes, but I know that this was a truly awakened experience. 10.01.2022 On Monday, after hearing the extension of our Vic lockdown I decided to do a walking meditation to process and get clear. Fee had an appointment so I had the opportunity to walk somewhere different, and to my surprise, snuggled beside the Nepean Highway I discovered for the first time this serene park, lake with ducks & cross - to tick all the boxes, plus a perfectly blue sky. I was reminded that on every journey we can find an oasis, a place of peace and rest, and in the stillness, if we listen we can hear the voice and guidance. Namaste

02.01.2022 MEET OUR TEACHERS - Collin began practicing yoga in 2002 in NYC while pursuing a career in theatre. She fell in love with the practice and decided to delve deeper getting her certification in 2005. She began teaching for several different studios in southern California, including Triad yoga, Yoga room, and Equinox fitness, eventually making her way to Yogaworks. At Yogaworks, she did trainings and workshops with some of yoga’s most sought after teachers, Sean Corne, Baron Baptiste, Pattabhi Jois, and Shiva Rea. She teaches a dynamic class that is playfully designed to create strength, stamina and flexibility.
