24.01.2022 Wow look at our finished outdoor deck. The children already have plenty of ideas and plans on how we will all utilise this fantastic new space. This has been made possible due to previous committees and fundraising teams who worked tirelessly to see this through. This is how community kindy's work - your children benefit from the work of the previous families and what we do this year will be enjoyed by next years children. Plenty of photos to come of multi uses. George and team have done a great job
24.01.2022 The children enjoyed spending the morning in the bush kindy building, designing, mark making and weaving with only what nature provides.

21.01.2022 TRANSIENT ART is non-permanent, movable art that is process orientated and requires no glue or sticky tape. We have used frames to define individual spaces for the children. Both our inside and outside Art Studios have been set up with a selection of open ended materials for the children to manipulate. The possibilities in transient art are endless and can be small individual manipulations of the materials or large collaborative creations by the group. We are very excited to see where this will 'go and grow' as the term rolls on. The children are recording their creations on camera and we will start to showcase some of their work this week.

18.01.2022 Another day in paradise !!! Despite predictions of high winds the beach was amazing again today as our late week children spent the whole morning, playing and learning about protecting turtle breeding areas with Sherida from Coolum Coast Care.
17.01.2022 Late week group spent a productive day in our bush space today. The children enjoyed collecting sticks, bark etc to make 'dwellings' tying them together with 'bush string' (vines). We can't wait to go back out and continue working on them.

16.01.2022 MAJESTIC TURTLES ARRIVE ON THE SUNSHINE COAST THIS WEEK: TurtleCare and Coolum and North Shore Coast Care volunteers are jumping for joy as the first turtle h...as laid it's nest on our beaches. Leigh from Coolum and North Shore Coast Care, thanked an early morning walker for alerting them to a green turtle nest on Saturday and the next morning they discovered a critically endangered loggerhead turtle nest. Last Friday, TurtleCare volunteers at Bribie Island also came across a green turtle track, but the tracks indicated that it was an unsuccessful nesting attempt also known as a turnaround. The female turtle aborted her nesting process for an unknown reason. It could have been disturbance, or inability to find a suitable nest site, and returned to the ocean. Her missing or stumpy back flipper may make it difficult for her to build a proper egg chamber. However, Simone our TurtleCare coordinator assured us that there are many stumpy turtles, and most have no issues with nesting. It's likely she'll try again on following nights on the same beach, or a beach close by. Turnarounds are unsuccessful nesting attempts and are not uncommon along our coastline. READ MORE http://ow.ly/ncHI50Cud1e To report turtle tracks, new nests and emerging hatchlings call either Sunshine Coast Council’s Turtle Care hotline or Coolum and North Shore Coast Care. For sightings on the southern end of the coast call 0437 559 067 and for sightings from Mooloolaba north call Coolum and North Shore Coast Care on 0478 435 377. Residents are encouraged to switch off their outside lights from 8pm as light pollution is distracting for turtles and hatchlings.
16.01.2022 Welcome to Kindy 2021 families! We've met several times and had opportunities to connect with each other, to the environment and to the routine. We've prepared little spaces of interest to get us started and to help make our first week more familiar. We are so looking forward to the joy of getting to know each other and to building our community in 2021. Wunya
16.01.2022 A special message for all of our Mum's, Grandmothers and Carers. Thank you for all that you do! Enjoy your day.
15.01.2022 Happy Winter Solstice
13.01.2022 So very exciting for the children to see the fences come down and our new stage revealed! We have been keeping a close eye on the progress and even though we couldn't walk on it we stood close by and imagined all of the possibilities this new decking provides. Again, we are so very grateful...thank you, thank you, thank you. to our 2019 committee, Madeline Crosthwaite (2019 President) for your tireless work in obtaining the Ted O'Brian Grant and tending to all the paperwork, Kate Smith for taking over the project in 2020, our 2019 fundraising efforts to supplement the shortfall and to Playscapes,George Davidson (past parent) and his crew for doing such an amazing job. This deck will have many stories to tell over the years and such a blessing to have something very positive to focus on at this time. Thank you Mudjimba Community.
13.01.2022 Thank you so so much to all the families for buying the Mother’s Day raffle tickets!! The lucky winner drawn for this beautiful prize was Tracey Guest - congratulations!! Total raised was $467 which an incredible amount for our kindy
11.01.2022 Early Week children had a busy week starting with a visit from Gubbi Gubbi man, Brent. He taught us about how a didgeridoo is made and how to make the different sounds. We went into our bush space and Brent showed us how to make a 'coolamon' bowl. We spent the morning in the bush today enjoying our morning tea in our yarning circle. A resident turkey scratched around us while we ate, seemingly unbothered by our presence. We sourced our own tapping sticks to sing Innanay. Some of the children made their own 'coolamon' (bowl) from paper park and a few enjoyed some low tree climbing.
10.01.2022 Great news - all our special little people can start back week on Monday 11th May
