23.01.2022 UPDATE REGARDING COVID-19 At this stage, the 2020 Queensland Youth, Masters, and Open Surf Life Saving Championships on the Sunshine Coast will be proceeding as... planned. Queensland Health is currently advising there is no need to cancel any events or gatherings, or take additional precautions to normal practice. People who are unwell should not attend public events. However, it’s important to note the health and safety of members, competitors, officials, and volunteers will remain our key priority at all times. As such, SLSQ will be closely monitoring the situation over the coming weeks, and will heed any and all advice from relevant authorities including Queensland Health, the World Health Organisation, and the Centre of Disease Control. SLSQ will continue to keep our members informed of the situation, and will provide further updates as required. Further information about symptoms, travel warnings, and other preventative measures can be found at the following link: http://bit.ly/2IHJP7s

21.01.2022 Hello Mudjimba Nipper Family, As we come to the end of the winter sports season we are preparing for the upcoming Nippers season at Mudjimba SLSC. We are holding an informal information evening on Thursday 1st August at 6.00pm at the Surf Club for all parents and care givers who would like to help out and participate to make this season as successful as possible. It takes a village to raise a child and it is only with your assistance in volunteering some of your precious time... that we can make Nippers a success. There is a plethora of information at the SLSQ Club Management app https://slsqcm.entegyapp.com.au/Page/60/93 and the information evening is our opportunity to discuss how we are going to support all of you to make Nippers the best it can be. Our priority is to have all the Age Groups with Age Managers and Assistant Age Managers, have all the pre- requisites fulfilled, have you mentored and ready to hit the sand running. There is so much more to helping out than being water safety. We need a BBQ Co-ordinator, Uniform Officer, if your child wishes to compete in carnivals we need a Team Manager and Officials for competitions. In order for Junior Activities to exist, the support of volunteers in various roles throughout the season is crucial. Regardless of weather you are a strong swimmer or not, there will always be somewhere you can lend a helping hand. There are some fantastic coaches within our club who will prepare programs to help train the kids in Swimming, Running, Boards, Champion Lifesaving and many other activities. If your passion is with assisting in that aspect please let us know. If you are renewing your role from last season or if you are contemplating dipping your toe in the water, I highly encourage you to attend and be a part of a magnificent culture that will embrace and nurture your kids development. There are not too many other sports where you can have this level of engagement with your kids. Yours Truly, Adam Amos JAC Chair. See more
