25.01.2022 Phew! Where does one begin when speaking about today's Aerospace Awards? Should we begin by talking about the yr9s, 10s and 11s who sat in on the proceedings and displayed exemplary behaviour? Or should we mention our special guests who came from far and wide...one (Stan) even flew up from the Gold Coast in his RV, or our industry partners such as Mick from Aeropower, and the Redcliffe Aero Club crew who took time out from their training to support the students. We should... of course take time to thank Natalie and Jo who make up the Gateway Aerospace team, and the speakers and sponsors and tech crew who brought us an outstanding live-streamed function. Lets not forget Melissa who made the room look unbelievable and then when all formalities were over, proceeded to cook food and feed it to those hungry young mouths. Who have I missed in terms of thank-yous? Way too many people make up what we call Mueller Aviation. We thank our great God for all His blessings and we thank all of you and our fantastic bunch of young engineers and aviators who continually motivate us as educators to do better. See more

25.01.2022 Been a bit slack with updates of the wing journey to Narromine. As you know, it departed 0600 yesterday (Tuesday) morning for Mudgee NSW where it overnighted at a family member of driver Graeme. The ute was hit by a Thunderstorm in Toowoomba on Tuesday morning (Mueller was hit by the same storm a couple of hours later) forcing Graeme to make some running repairs on the packing; the empennage and our wing were not damaged in any way. The 2nd pic is of a petrol stop at Moree NSW, and the final shot is departure from Mudgee this morning destination Narromine.

24.01.2022 Completely unscripted - this clip highlights how dedicated and inspirational our industry partners are. It starts off with Mick from Aeropower chatting to a group of young men, rolls past Bernadette from YRED Aero Club surrounded by eager yr9s, and finishes with JM - instructor at the airport, and Peter who is one of our RV12 Wing build mentors.

24.01.2022 This is a repost of Joe U's (past ACUO or Australian Certified UAV Operators President) LinkedIn post; it concerns an early Australian adoptee of UAV technology named Peter Hill. Peter was also an early supporter of MUROC. ACUO, through Peter, Joe and another gent named Brad (number #1 on his Australian UAV CASA certification...Brad was the first!), donated three 3DR Iris+ drones amongst many other things; these were worth a fair bit back then. Peter loved coming to watch the Mueller students fly their foamies and his photo can be seen on our honours wall in the STEM/Aerospace room.

23.01.2022 Ramia has nailed two awards! #aerospace2020 #aerospacegisp

23.01.2022 ...and this is the sweet sound of the Spittie mentioned in the previous post.

22.01.2022 Congratulations to Ramia J who has just been offered a place at Griffith University for a Bachelor of Engineering & Bachelor of Aviation. She has accepted. Ramz, when you have finished your course, come back and design us a plane that we can build!

20.01.2022 RV12 wing-build mentor Peter's maiden flight of his Wittman Tailwind - turn up your volume as the engine sound is impressive. Peter uses hand controls only - there are no rudder pedals. Yaw is achieved with a forward/back hand control. Amazing! The aircraft tucking in behind the Tailwind is the chase plane to make sure everything is ok once airborne. Peter is one of our valued mentors and father of Mueller PE staff member Mr Pretorius.

18.01.2022 It’s started! #aerospace2020 #aerospaceGISP

16.01.2022 The STEM/Aerospace room all set up by Mrs Chambers for tomorrow's Aerospace Industry Education Awards and ready to welcome our special guests from industry as well as the yr9 STEM, yr10 STEM/Aerospace, and yr11 and 12 Aerospace Systems students. Our banners are now up once again and we have Gateway Schools triangular flag bunting that the AGISP have supplied. Our friends at the airport have also given us a Woolies food voucher to purchase food and drink for our guests. Wednesday 25th is going to be HUGE.

15.01.2022 Bring on the Aerospace Industry Education Awards!

14.01.2022 After the Gold Rush...Mueller STEM and Aviation students building their network with Aerospace industry professionals. Kudos to our guests for taking the time to talk to the kids.

14.01.2022 As you might remember, one of our RV12 wing build mentors, John K, has been busy flying backwards and forwards between his home in Qld and Scone where he has been working on a Spitfire. This aircraft has just had its first successful engine run.

13.01.2022 Go Jessalee! She won! Yr10 GE Aviation Award. Well done Josh as well. #aerospace2020 #aerospaceGISP

10.01.2022 This ISS overhead tonight. Thanks It's Rocket Science for sharing this. 2024 (8:24pm); check IRS's details below. It will appear in the SW and be overhead for 2 mins. Max height at 85 degrees - that's almost directly overhead!

09.01.2022 Go Elika! The Honourable Company of Air Pilots Award. #aerospace2020 #aerospacegisp

08.01.2022 STEM/Aerospace students Hayden and Joel spent part of their holiday undertaking work experience with Aviation Australia in their trade training workshops. Apparently some blood was spilled lockwiring! Well done boys (men!) and thanks to Aviation Australia for these opportunities.

08.01.2022 STEM/Aerospace T.A. Melissa checking for any movement of the wing and loosening of packing material on top of the ute rig on the image Graeme took for us when it stopped for fuel at Moree. It was looking good according to Melissa. That's the spar sticking out the front wrapped in pool noodles.

07.01.2022 Mueller popcorn! #aerospacegisp #aerospace2020

04.01.2022 Its D-day...so to speak. The awards are here! If you would like to watch, you can access the event here: bit.ly/3pLZhn8. Look for the 'Access the event' button. You may have to register with Eventbrite during the process.

04.01.2022 SAAA Plane Build Log #18 - 18 November 2020 Last Wednesday our students turned the wing right side up and continued riveting skins to the wing as well as riveting flaperon hinge brackets to the main ribs and rear spar. They deburred and prepared the wing walker doubler for primer, and then primed it. They placed heat shrink on the landing light wires (which are not required for the right wing) and secured the wires to the main wing rib. They started deburring the top wi...ng skins and prepared them for primer. They riveted the landing light close out and flaperon skins to the flaperon skeleton and clecoed other flaperon nose skins so they are ready to be riveted this week. We also had a party to celebrate our mentors and to farewell our two graduating Year 12 students: Elika and Ramia. Elika and Ramia have been valuable team members who have worked hard on the plane build. They even showed up to build sessions during their exam block and during school holidays. The students showed their appreciation to our wonderful mentors by presenting them with handwritten cards and gift bags. (Two mentors were absent and will be presented with their gifts next time they're on campus.) #SAAAPlaneBuild / Sport Aircraft Association of Australia Thank you to our wonderful volunteer mentors and to the sponsors: AvPlan EFB, C&H Freight, Garmin, QBE, SAAA Chapter 22, SAAA Chapter 24 and Swish Project

03.01.2022 This was the article that appeared in last month’s Moreton Daily. Great pics from the professional photographer from the MD. It was a bit of a laugh because we made the students turn up on their formal uniforms even though it was a sports day! The students look great I should add. Going to miss two of them...

01.01.2022 Many thanks to the Aerospace Gateway to Industry Schools Program for hosting a fantastic event. Well done to Nat, Jo and the team. Congratulations to all the students from the Gateway Aero schools regardless of whether you made it as a finalist or not...your schools will be proud of you.
