25.01.2022 Time to celebrate another one of our wonderful nurses for the World Health Organisation 2020 international year of the nurse and midwife! This time, we shine the spotlight on Perianaesthetic Associate Nurse Unit Manager (Theatre), Annika. In describing the passion she has for her role, she shares; "Having surgery can be a very daunting experience for patients. Being a nurse who makes that experience easier by caring for patients in a compassionate and professional manner is very important to me. Theatre is a critical care area that collides with complex equipment and a dynamic team, I have always enjoyed the challenge of nursing in this ever changing environment." 24.01.2022 This Antimicrobial Awareness Week we are joining with health organisations around the world to promote the appropriate and safe use of antibiotics. Antimicrobials are very precious and we are raising awareness of the problem of antibiotic resistance. Everybody can be part of the solution - whenever antimicrobials must be used, they must be used with care. The future of antimicrobials depends on all of us!... Antibiotic resistance happens when bacteria stop an antibiotic from working effectively without effective antibiotics some procedures may not be possible and some infections could be impossible to treat. Learn more about the importance of keeping antibiotics effective at www.safetyandquality.gov.au/aaw and www.nps.org.au/consumers/antibiotics-explained #mulgraveprivate #peoplefirstpeoplealways #antimicrobialawarenessweek

Why not do your cheeky checkup now? For instructions see here http://mulgraveprivate.cms.healthecare.net.au//breast-canc #mulgraveprivate #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #peoplefirstpeoplealways
20.01.2022 Throughout the course of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic, Mulgrave Private Hospital’s Pandemic Steering Committee has implemented robust policies and procedures to protect safety and minimise risks of virus contraction. We continue to closely monitor the situation and take every precaution to keep everyone in our hospital community safe. We are pleased at this point to advise you of the re-commencement of limited visiting hours. Commencing from 28/09/2020, visiting hours ...are restricted to 4:00pm - 6:00pm daily, with a limit of STRICTLY 1 visitor per patient per day. All visitors will be screened at entry to the hospital before access is granted to the hospital, including thermal temperature screening. Anyone visiting the hospital can save time on the day of the visit by completing our pre-screening questionnaire on their smart phone at screen.healthe.care/mulgrave or via scanning the QR code. Visitors must wear their own mask on entering the hospital, and will then be provided with a surgical face mask at screening which must be worn at all times throughout the duration of their visit. Infection control and hand hygiene policies continue to be strictly enforced. We still encourage family and friends to telephone, face time/video call, Skype or WhatsApp patients, instead of coming in to the hospital. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation, and assure you of our continued commitment to the health and safety of patients, staff and the community. 11.01.2022 Today is Remembrance Day, when we traditionally observe a minute’s silence at 11am if our work allows. We do this in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts. We remember particularly the nurses, doctors, orderlies, allied and mental health professionals who have served our country, including many among the more than 100,000 Australian service personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice. "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them."
