24.01.2022 In these uncertain times we know how daunting it is to negotiate the unknown, but here at MullArch we are managing by simply taking one day at a time. With the ever-changing nature of the current situation, we are holding on to the hope that we will emerge on the other side of this crazy time a better version of what (and who) we were before...both as a business and as individual people. On a positive note, we are excited to announce that the rebranding we have been workin...g away on behind the scenes is finally complete! Obviously you can see our new logo in the image of this post...what do you think? Do you think we've done OK, or should we have left the old alone? We welcome your feedback ;-) Please also check out our new website..www.mullarch.com.au We have added a few things to the website that the old one didn't have - blogs and DDD sessions. Our blogs may not change your world, but they will give you insight into our business, our service, our people and our industry. Be sure to have a look at the DDD (Demystify your Design Dream) sessions - these are 1hr or 2hr sessions with a senior architect that we have developed with our domestic clients in mind. The consultation sessions are aimed at offering invaluable no-strings-attached advice/information that you can use to conquer your next building project. We will be talking more about these in the next few months, but in the meantime, please feel free to like, share and spread the word. As a small business we are grateful that we have the format to keep things moving. As long as the work comes in, we can get it done in the usual manner so please don't hesitate if you are fortunate enough to be in a position to press play on your building project - however big or small. You can now find us above Morris Brothers Music Store, on the corner of Webster Rd and Billabong Street in Stafford. Maybe a few staff lunches at the Stafford tavern will help us settle in to our new digs

15.01.2022 I will confess...symmetry usually just feels 'right' to me, but this DA Approved 13 unit apartment building exemplifies how asymmetry can be equally as balanced and appealing. This 1000sqM site backs on to a park at Zillmere on the north side of Brisbane. With full Building Approval drawings completed, this is a good example of how well-resolved our designs are. We pride ourselves on the fact that the buildings we design (whether they be apartment buildings, homes, resorts... or townhouses) don't just look the part, but are comprehensive, functional and compliant...so important when it comes to the reality of actually building the product, not just selling it. On that note, this particular site (with the DA approval for 13 units + complete Building Approval drawings) is currently up for sale. 15.01.2022 Well done Brisbane City Council - finally making a move in the right direction towards ensuring quality architecture in Brisbane! Now that Development Approval Conditions are beginning to come out with the requirement of QUALIFIED ARCHITECTS to not only provide external detailing on buildings, but also to certify that buildings are being built as per their Development Approval, perhaps the emphasis will be placed more on the quality of buildings, rather than the quantity...and our value will be realised?

02.01.2022 There is always a great deal of discussion in the community about council not doing the right thing by residents when they allow sites to be rezoned for units and townhouses, and when they approve developments on sites in and around the suburbs. Let's be clear - I am not advocating either side of the argument...to be totally honest, I have vested interests on both sides of the fence, but with Brisbane's population growing by anywhere from 30,000 to 140,000 people every year, I would like to open up a discussion about alternative solutions to accommodating the extra people residing in Brisbane now and in the future. With absolutely no judgement or expectation, I would really love to hear what other ideas you think we (as architects) and council could be considering to manage the population growth. Be nice

01.01.2022 It's little wonder our profession is becoming increasingly frustrating. I struggle to think of another single profession in this country that requires 6 years of university study + a further registration process that is cheapened and stripped of it's credibility by off shore under-cutters such as those advertised in this ad...ironically this advertisement was emailed to us!!! Sorry Global Drafting Studio, we would prefer to deliver a quality hands-on service to our clients.
