21.01.2022 At the recent Black Lives Matter protests in Canberra, Mullen Mura Case Manager, Leah House, spoke clearly about the ongoing systemic failures across child protection, policing, and access to justice that continue to affect the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community here in Canberra. The BLM movement is pushing the issues we see daily further into the public eye. The Mulleun Mura Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women’s Access to Justice program at the Centre ha...s worked for over a decade to advocate for and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their communities. Mulleun Mura is a free, Aboriginal woman-led service which helps Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women to navigate and hold systems to account.
