16.01.2022 WATCH & ACT - BUSHFIRE Incident Location: Alpine National Park Issue Date: Saturday 04 January 2020, 06:52 pm Next Update: Saturday 04 January 2020, 09:30 pm... This Watch & Act message is being issued for Howitt Plains, Howqua Hills, Mirimbah, Moroka, Mount Buller, Sawmill Settlement, Tamboritha - There are two bushfires within the Alpine National Park near The Bluff that are not yet under control. - Any visitors within the Watch and Act area have been directed to leave now while it is safe to do so. - Weather conditions have pushed the fire to the south, spotting 10 km in a southerly direction ahead of the fire. - A wind change is expected this evening, which will cause the fire to change to a northerly direction towards Mt Buller with spotting occurring ahead of the fire. - Don't wait, leaving now is the safest option - conditions may change and get worse very quickly. Emergency Services may not be able to help you if you decide to stay. - The Alpine National Park, Howqua Hills Historic Area, Mansfield State Forest, Jamieson State Forest, Delatite Arm Reserve, Mt Buller and Mt Stirling Resort Management areas are closed for public safety due to the fire risk. Don't wait, leaving now is the safest option - conditions may change and get worse very quickly. Emergency Services may not be able to help you if you decide to stay.
