25.01.2022 Today we spent a full day chopping the last of the corn. As I post this the men are currently out covering it before the rain comes later this week. This gorgeous old truck is used to cart tyres for the silage.......Yes, it still runs! Beautiful isn't it!!!

24.01.2022 I love the calves! Every now and then a red and white one is born. This gorgeous little girl was born yesterday! I think I'll be spending a lot more time with her.

22.01.2022 What a way to spend your birthday.....throwing tyres around! The silage covering is getting there, but there's still a long way to go! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS!

21.01.2022 Here we go!!! The beginning of the next few days of chopping!!

20.01.2022 It's been a while since I shared any photos of what's been happening around here. I have been very busy with Five Diamonds Photography and the farm office work, but finally took some time yesterday to take some photos of Chris spraying the corn. The 3 corn varieties in the paddocks at Spring Creek that we lease are coming along nicely. Rain wise, they have faired much better than here at home. The corn will start to tassel in the next couple of weeks, so it would be nice to get some beneficial rain between now and then. You can certainly tell the difference between the irrigated paddock and the dryland paddock.

20.01.2022 WARNING.....CUTENESS OVERLOAD!!! Exciting news! We had twin heifers born yesterday. Twin heifers are quite special as it doesn't happen very often. As a bonus (for me anyway), they are red....my favourite!

15.01.2022 I think this is a good enough excuse to not do any washing today on Mother's Day. The boys are laying gravel down to improve the track over to the dairy and silage, hopefully just in time for silage being chopped later this week. Oh the dust! Some rain sure would be nice!

13.01.2022 Winter afternoons like this are just way too pretty not to share! :-)

12.01.2022 This week, Norco celebrates a major milestone - 125 years! Norco is a 100% Australian farmer owned dairy co-operative which means that it is 100% owned by the Aussie farmers. I am proud to play a small part in what we do here. Every time you choose Norco, you're not only backing an award-winner milk, but you're supporting local Aussie farmers. It was cold enough today for our Norco gear. Soph and I spent the afternoon with some of the girls, watching the sun go down. I just love the character of these animals and how inquisitive they are!

10.01.2022 ~THE END OF DAY 2 - CHOPPING SILAGE~ Tonight it feels like it was a really long day and I am looking forward to a coffee now and bed before day 3 tomorrow. It was a great day though, the silage pile is the biggest I have ever rolled.

10.01.2022 This 'mean machine' has been getting quite a work out the last week or so. Chris has spent many days fixing waterways and building banks and doing a wonderful job. He has another day of it tomorrow before silage is cut again on Tuesday. I wish these photos showed how this machine could move. I swear it's dancing half the time!!

09.01.2022 Wow! To open FB this morning and see this! Sure did make me smile. Thanks Norco Rural.

07.01.2022 3 days of rolling and I am done! I am so impressed with the size of this 'silage bun'. It was an awesome effort by all involved! I'm told it should be about 18 months worth of feed. Now it's up to the boys to cover it. Thank goodness I don't have to do that job!

06.01.2022 ~DAY 1 OF CHOPPING~ Today was all action! A chopper, 3 trucks and 2 tractors all running most of the day! After a photo session this morning, it was my turn to get on the tractor and roll silage until the early hours of the night. I love being out there with Chris, side by side. And the sunset, well, it sure was a bonus today! Bring on tomorrow!
