15.01.2022 OMNIVISION ROUND 1 RECAP It was a fantastic weekend for the club as we came away with all four wins to kick off the year! The 1st XI travelled to Hawthorn, and batted first on a tough deck. Chenutha was outstanding with his 81 to set the scene, and was well supported by Callum and Samith, before Buddhika came in and hit them to all parts to give us a competitive total. In reply, we bowled outstandingly well to roll Hawthorn for 110, with Shiran, Ashen and Buddi leading the w...ay. The 2nds hosted Deepdene, and lost to toss to bowl first. The Bears got off to a flyer, and at one stage were 0/56 after roughly 15 or so overs. However, a great bowling comeback from Dyl, Mac and Will saw us restrict Deepdene to 108. In reply, Jacko got us off to an absolute flyer, before a couple of quick wickets saw us 2/49. However, a patient and mature display from Traps and Will saw us home by 8 wickets. The 3rds played Edinburgh away and bowled first, with Dian, Janaka and Nadeesha the pick of the bowlers, keeping the opposition under 170. It was a patient and close chase, with Jase notching up his first senior half century, supported by Sajeewa and Prash. Thakshan came in and belted 25 to take the game into the final over, but a loss of a quick wicket saw us 8 down with 3 still needed off 5. Mitch Rebecchi then strolled to the crease, and instead of turning the strike over to the set batsmen, he simply slog swept the bowler over square leg’s head first rock to win the game for the lads. We will never hear the end of this. For the 4ths, they played Monash University at home, and got off to a fantastic start. AJ belted 65 and was supported by Radz with 58. Kunju hit 45 not out at the end to give us a strong total of 229. In return, we bowled beautifully to roll Monash for 93, with Gobe, Thanusanth and Ellamurukan the pick of the bowlers. Awesome effort from all the lads, and fingers crossed we can make it 8 from 8 this coming week! #GoMully

13.01.2022 OmniVision Weekend Results A solid outing from the lads to end Christmas with 3/4 wins! The 1sts had a tough chase out at Mazenod, but thanks to Shiran and Samith, we got home by 3 wickets.... The 2nds struggled for the most part, before Will and John combined for a strong partnership, with Wilba smoking them at the end. It was a clinical bowling performance from all, including a J Taylor stumping off Spider , to get us home with the win. The 3rds had a tough loss against Richmond Union, but Thakshan impressed with two fa and a solid 32. The 4ths had a close win, by only two wickets, chasing against Toorak-Prahran. The wickets were shared to restrict the opposition to only 142, but it was a tough chase, and we managed to come home with a hard-fought win! Merry Christmas to all, and we will see you all in the New Year to go again! First game back is January 9th. #GoMully

10.01.2022 COVID SAFETY OFFICER With the 2020/21 season shaping up to be a year like no other, one of the big changes will be the introduction of a COVID Safety Officer. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the COVID Safety Officer will oversee the correct protocols the club will need to adhere to, as well as ensuring we have the necessary supplies and the procedures in place to play the upcoming season.... Therefore, the club is pleased to announce Mitch Rebecchi as the COVID Safety Officer for the 2020/21 season. Mitch has been at the club for many years, and is an active member at Mulgrave as a player and a clubsman. Big thanks to Mitch for putting his hand up to take on this role, and we are looking forward to putting the correct protocols in place to make sure we are set for an exciting year! #GoMully
