21.01.2022 Its National Neighbour Day this Sunday 25 March. For an hour on Sunday morning we are throwing some sausages on the BBQ and inviting all of our Neighbours to BYO their own cuppa. The nicest part so far has been knocking on the doors of people who youve never spoken to and finding out what nice people they are. Extending the hand of friendship can only lead to a better planet - give it a go, even if its only making the effort to speak to one neighbour. Feel free to share any experiences :-)

Our Sunlinq 6.5 Watt Panel hard at work, proving a great survival tool in some very severe weather at Pasang Peak Base Camp, Annapurna Region Nepal- October 2014! Many thanks Ross for allowing us to share this great story and photo! Dear MPP,... As promised, attached is a photo of the panel hard at work in the Himalaya. At this time it was recharging walkie-talkie batteries at the base camp of Pisang Peak (6091m; Nepal), an acclimatisation peak in the Annapurna Region. Annapurna 2 is the spectacular glaciated peak, nearly 8000m high, in the photo background. Id love to be able to say that this climb was a success, but this photo was taken just a couple of days before a terrible out-of-season storm hit the region, very nearly adding our names to the long list of many others who tragically perished - we were on our summit bid that day! The walkie-talkies mentioned above proved critical during emergency evacuation of the mountain. The good news is that (1) we all survived, and (2) the Sunlinq panel worked flawlessly, recharging numerous appliances throughout the trip. It proved especially useful in the days after the storm, supporting communications when all other power in the valley had failed. Cheers and many thanks, Ross West Footscray, Victoria.

19.01.2022 We are in Merimbula visiting family and have just heard that $23,000 worth of solar panels and inverter equipment have been stolen from the local Pambula Aquatic Centre - unbelievable! After all the local fund raising that went towards creating the centre its heartbreaking to hear. The panels were saving the centre $5000 a year. If the insurance does pay out their insurance premiums go up.

10.01.2022 Two for One Lifeline Encore Radio Progamme one for yourself and one goes to a community overseas who would really benefit from it. The second radio will be donated to Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA who support the work of over 50 Community Learning Centres in Timor-Leste and the Solomon Islands where many remote communities have no electricity or landlines, and mobile phones have limited reception. The Multi-Powered Products www.multipoweredproducts.com.au program allows APHEDA to provide solar powered radios that help provide education and life skills. We managed to donate 140 radios in 2008, we would to donate more again with your help this year.
