19.01.2022 So, it seems likely the parents of Metropolitan Melbourne may be home schooling to start term 3 If your child is asking you constantly ‘what does this word say?’ It might be worth giving me a call to discuss if MSL sessions would be beneficial. If they are constantly saying they need a wee or a poo, sorry but I can’t help you there

18.01.2022 Good luck to all the parents of children and children who are going back to school tomorrow! Congratulations on all the hard work you have put in, home schooling over the last few months. I hope it is a smooth transition back for all

17.01.2022 Now taking expressions of interest for online small group tutoring sessions This is a great option if... Your child is missing social interaction Your child could benefit from seeing other children also need a little extra help... You are looking for a lower cost option Your child would be matched with one or two other children at a similar level of ability as them. Parents still receive individual and private feedback on their child’s session and individualised homework for their child’s needs.

16.01.2022 Great song! Even better message No need to get stressed when you know how to decode https://m.youtube.com/watch

14.01.2022 As all year levels head back to school this morning I am sure there are many mixed feelings!? How are you and your children feeling about the return to school today?

14.01.2022 When people ask me what MSL is and how it is different, I will often tell them that it is a structured literacy approach. The teaching is explicit, systematic and sequential. But what does that mean? This is a great article that helps to explain the guiding principles of the Orton Gillingham and MSL approach. https://www.theliteracynest.com//what-does-explicit-syst/2

14.01.2022 Week 2 of school holidays is here!! I hope everyone is able to enjoy having the kids home, given everything going on at the moment!? If you have activity ideas your kids have loved, please comment or share a link below

14.01.2022 For those sensory loving children

13.01.2022 If you are a parent to one of my students you will have heard me say we are working on getting our letter sounds short and clipped. This is very important when blending sounds together to read or spell a word. This video (even with an American accent) may help you at home to articulate some of the more tricky sounds for your child.

13.01.2022 Could your child benefit from some support with maths? I have had a few calls for maths support for primary school aged children. Currently, this is not something I offer. However, if there is the need for it I may consider further training to offer maths support. ... I would love to hear from you if you think your child could benefit from support. I would also be very keen to hear experiences parents and children have had with maths support and programs on offer such as Singapore maths, kumon, multisensory maths etc. Thank you
