17.01.2022 Our regional Ambassador Michael England was out this weekend competing in Gladstone’s Annual Multitrade Building Hire 6hr event. The enduro mountain bike event, tests the gumption of each rider over an undulating 8km circuit with the victor being the rider who completes the most laps. Michael had this to say on the event; The Race Base has a great atmosphere, entertaining through music, food and plenty of race banter. The conditions this time of year are perfect, where the ...temps aren't too hot at 2pm race start and entering into Sundown not becoming too cold. It seems to work nicely. What were your times? My race this year, unfortunately ended at the 2hr point from multiple rear flat tyres. But still, I managed to enjoy the remainder of the event on the sidelines cheering on and fulfilling timing duties. A great day out. How has the Covid-19 pandemic affected the sport and your training regimen? Other than the Covid Race Plan the Club had in place, Covid luckily didn't affect the event much at all. With the majority of entrants travelling from around CQ regions, the numbers were still good. My training hasn't been altered either this year. I've had a lot of time off the bike which has been really nice. Obviously my fitness is not anywhere near National level, but I've had no expectations on big races this year. What upcoming events do you have? "I'll continue to support local events around Qld. No pressure on results, just keeping everything low key for 2020". July 28th Michael competed and won the event in the Seeonee Mtb Park Race as part of the MTB CQ Series, round 3. A sandy 6.5km circuit near Rockhampton. ... August 4th Michael competed in the @ Mackay Mountain Marathon, a gruelling 80km marathon mountain bike course. Taking out first place and winning the Platypus trophy Michael had tis to say: Managed to pull a win today. Super happy with this one. Always such a challenging coarse up at Eungella". Sept 15 The annual Flight centre Epic is one of the biggest races of the year and Michael did not disappoint. With 4 months on a strict training regimen Michael was in top top shape for one of the hottest conteted events on the National MTB circuit. Taking out 2nd place Michael had this to say on the event: Had to dig so deep for this one. For the worst 4 mths leading into it, Ive certainly surprised myself. Sept 21st Round 4 of the MTB CQ series saw Michael take another 1st place win. A 32km circuit located near Rockhampton. October 12th (upcoming Event) An extreme test of mind and physicality the 25th annual Croc Trophy is a 700km fatigue inducing mountain bike extravaganza. Over 8 days of riding in the beautiful stretches of tropical North Queensland. Beginning in Cairns, continuing through the tablelands and lake Tinaroo and finishing up in Cook Town the event test every element of a Marathon Mountain Bikers gumption. 03.01.2022 With the worlds toughest mountain bike race behind him its time we say a massive congratulations to our brand ambassador Michael England. To give you a sense of scale of the 25th annual Croc Trophy the event sees riders compete for over 8 days pushing through a gargantuan 700km of Queenslands far north mountain bike trails. Beginning in Cairns riders make their way up the range, through the tablelands and wildly varying elevations (12,000m of vertical climbing) with the f...inish line in Port Douglas. The challenging race attracts elite mountain bike riders from around the globe with a prominent European contingent. Only 30% of the field is made up of Australian riders. Michael had this to say at the end of day 3: Believe it or not, the approach to this event was quite relaxed, happy-go-lucky attitude. But then I went and won Stage 1, putting a massive target on my back. It was unexpected but I was hugely honoured to be an Australian winning a Stage here amongst such a wide range of European riders. Especially over a course with long sections of 35% and also attacking with 5kms to go, to bridge across to the leader, and ending the stage in a sprint finish. Both of us cramping at the same time. One can only begin to imagine the perseverance through pain, exhaustion and mental tests that the Croc Trophy brings each day. After 8 days Michael completed the race as the fastest Australian and finished an amazing 2nd overall for the series. 01.01.2022 Multitrade Building Hire is proud to be part of the first coronavirus respiratory clinic to open in rural Australia. Working with our client Emerald Medical Centre Multitrade were able to provide buildings swiftly. The clinic will be staffed by local GPs and will relieve the hospital by keeping COVID-19 related consults seperate. The clinic consists of a series of portable buildings including Multitrades linked by walkways and will be coordinated by Emerald Medical Group, le...d by Ewan McPhee. 01.01.2022 Multitrade Building Hire was a major hole sponsor at the 2019 GEA Golf Day. This year we wanted to do more and collaborated with Rays Soup Kitchen. We had a lot to offer the over 120 participants with Mini games and cash prizes while our charity organisation served up their beautiful home made soup with a message.
