24.01.2022 Federation Council is required to implement a new harmonised rating system by 1 July 2021. This follows the merger of Corowa and Urana Shire Councils and a four... year period of continuing to levy rates in accordance with the structures adopted by each former Council for properties in each former Council area. To assist Council to obtain views from across the Federation Council area, it is proposed to establish a Rate Advisory Committee. Complete the online Expression of Interest form to register your intent to be apart of this new committee and find out more about the purpose of the committee here: https://bit.ly/3pIKFDI #federationcouncil #creatingopportunity #celebratingcommunity

16.01.2022 COMMUNITY NOTICE: For Your Information from Transport for NSW: Transport for NSW is starting work on a substantial maintenance project on Mulwala Bridge. Work i...ncludes replacing a vertical steel strut and upgrading the existing pedestrian crossing. To minimise impacts to motorists, we will be carrying out the first stage at night between 9pm and 6am from Monday to Thursday, from Monday 1 March, with one lane remaining open to traffic at all times. We will keep the community updated as work progresses. This essential maintenance is expected to take about nine months to complete, weather and border circumstances permitting. We acknowledge border communities have been put under additional strain over the last 12 months due to Coronavirus, border closures and restrictions. The community’s wellbeing is important to us, so we have planned a work program to limit impacts as much as possible. We will mostly be working at night and work will stop during Easter and the April school holidays to allow full access to holiday makers and travelling families. A website has been set up with details of the project can be found here https://www.rms.nsw.gov.au//mulwala-bridge-main/index.html
