25.01.2022 So Brad Downing did a thing on Saturday, becoming just the third player in Club history to take their 400th dismissal during 2nd XI's fantastic win on the weekend, achieving the milestone in just his 162nd game. He sits second all time for dismissals per game for players with at least 100 dismissals, and has seven Club fielding awards to show for that. His silky hands can be seen in these two snaps, taken during two of his five premiership wins.
25.01.2022 Warm one today for the first selection night of the year, so make sure you bring a water bottle. Dinner tonight will be lasagne and garlic bread, and the BBL double header will be on the telly, so see you there!
24.01.2022 Format for tomorrow: 35 overs vs 35 overs. 12:30 start. Be there 11:45 sharp and please have whites, AND SPIKED SHOES.... (There will be some Murdoch playing shirts available for purchase). Fielding restrictions will be in play for 7 overs. Bowlers will have a max spell of 6 overs. (Meaning you will need a min of 6 bowlers). In the event of a team being bowled out. The batting team will bat on until 30 overs completed only, returning batsman of the lowest scores first. Secondary scores will not could for the match scoring. Batsman who get out, will unfortunately be out for the day, unless the above applies. After the game (around 5:00-5:45 expected finish) anyone who lacked time in the middle can pad up and face flings/bowls on the turf until 6:30 if required. Umpires are going to be present which is fantastic, so please be polite and friendly. Covid restrictions for this year mean that no spit or sweat is allowed on the balls. This is a good chance to practice this change, so it will apply. Mrs Hallam has been kind enough to supply a small tea for the group available at the innings break. Please abide by Covid restrictions when getting this. What a great opportunity to get on turf ahead of other clubs and have a fun day! Everyone playing enjoy the day, try be mindful of bringing a flexible attitude and let’s have a great season. See you tomorrow, Josh. 23.01.2022 Huge congratulations to returned Club legend Tom Lewis on playing his 100th game for the Club last weekend after being stuck on 99 for about three years. To mark this occasion the Club has bought him some new spikes, although unfortunately he could have done with them on the weekend. Also a big congrats to Dave Wright who finally snaffled his 150th dismissal on the weekend.

22.01.2022 A very happy 40th birthday to 1st XI premiership captain Geoff Ponting! Punter has chalked up 113 games for the Club, captaining four seasons and winning two premierships. He is also the recipient of the number one 1st XI cap after our move to Murdoch Uni, leading the 1st XI to a premiership win in our first season at the new home ground.
21.01.2022 Don't forget, training kicks off again for 2021 this arvo from 4:30. See you at the 'Doch!
21.01.2022 A big thanks to everyone who came down to the Christmas party. Have a safe and happy holidays everyone. We'll catch you in the new year. First Saturday back is the 9th of Jan.
19.01.2022 OK WE ARE LOCKED IN! Quiz night Friday 27th November. Tickets $15 each. Tables of up to eight. Tickets can be paid at the bar or sent to your email, just let us know how many you need. We are looking for any and all prize donations, so if you know someone with a business that might be interested in attracting some new customers or have some stock to clear out then get in touch with them and let us know.... Was a great night last year with almost everyone walking away with something, so we look forward to seeing a sold out venue.
19.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.

19.01.2022 Big game this weekend at home for the 1s boys and we have 4 on debut today with 1 having his first 1s game at home too. The first man needs no introduction you have probably heard him at training or on game day. He's a great clubman that many of us have played with for years. We couldn't be prouder, well done Peter Kennelly a.k.a PK a.k.a Brody's better half at the club. Next is one of safest pair hands - Tristan Emrich who Ruley sometimes calls "Mini-Me". Third on debut is... winter cricket comp dominator Ben Menzies. After some time away from the game to reflect and play with his cars he decided things can't get any worse so I might as well waste summer playing cricket. Ben has always been a great batsman to watch and we are looking forward to seeing him improve the run-rate. Next is dance floor extraordinaire Andrew Hanning. Now don't let that fancy footwork distract you he also doesn't mind bowling fast at your toes. Hopefully Subi has some steel caps this weekend. Finally, welcome to the club Damon Sheppard, playing his first 1s game at home all the best. He has already made quite an entrance and I wish I had him in my dreamteam. See more
18.01.2022 If you’ve been lucky enough to frequent the MUMCC club rooms during the tea break in recent seasons then $10 or $20 wouldn’t go astray here...

Peter Drake-Brockman... 3. Dave Sammut 4. Darren Wilson 5. Brad Downing Shift 2 - 11:00-13:00 1. Steven Rule 2. Dan Zinetti 3. Petrice Koelewyn 4. Darren Wilson 5. Shift 3 - 13:00-15:00 1. 16.01.2022 Please see details below for the scratch match this Saturday October 3rd at the Doch. All MUMCC players welcome
16.01.2022 Just the one milestone last weekend, with everyone's favourite, Stobbbbaaaa, taking his 100th wicket for the Club.

15.01.2022 A big mask-free training session this afternoon, where hopefully we can get enough practice into a few 3rd and 4th XI bats to emulate Yahya on the weekend and can celebrate plenty of wins this weekend. Brody can also provide vital coaching on how not to panic when on 0.
15.01.2022 The club has noticed that there is a large amount of memberships and match fees outstanding. All invoices are sent via email, and reminders are automatically sent out, so there should be no excuse to not be up to date with your payments. An early indication shows that numbers are very healthy again this round, and the selectors will be taking financial status into account when determining where (and if) people play this round. If you would like to check if you owe money, or how much you owe, please either send the club a message on Facebook, or contact [email protected].

14.01.2022 Very happy 30th birthday today to last season's OD3 skipper, Nick Dempsey. Pumpkin is a 136 game player with 1,335 runs and 89 wickets. He's captained two seasons and won four premierships, as well as one Club batting, bowling (!) and fielding award.
13.01.2022 MUMCC Intraclub Matches are taking place on the 3rd and 10th of October. These games are very important for the grading process and we encourage all players to attend no matter what grade. The format will be full one day match rules (40 overs) and be officiated with WASTCA umpires. Players will be required to wear whites and standard rules of fielding restrictions and wickets (if you are out you are out), will apply. That said, everyone will get an opportunity to bat. MUMCC... requires urgent and accurate responses from all club members looking to make themselves available for these fixtures as they are critical to book the turf and astro wickets that we have access to. There is a minimum requirement of 22 players for one match per Saturday, and 44 for 2 matches. In the result of 44 availabilities, the matches will be selected as a ‘A’ and ‘B’ games, to balance player skill level. In the result of excess availability to the 44 catered for per Saturday, selection will be based on skill level, and also training participation and speed of RSVPing. Drinks will be available on these days and any players who unfortunately can't attend the full day are urged to come down to support, and enjoy the days. Particularly after the days play. PLEASE RSVP ACCURATELY, and we'll see you at training. If you have any questions about the games please feel free to get in touch with our first 11 skip Josh at training or Brody.

13.01.2022 Congrats to Jack Hallam who hit his 1000th run for the Club on Saturday in a rather important innings in the scheme of that game.
12.01.2022 A big congrats to a couple of runs milestones achieved in the same 2nd XI match on Saturday, with Nick Bonner hitting his 3000th run for the Club and Tristan Emrich hitting his 1000th. Jack Hallam also came very close to making it a third.
12.01.2022 Another scratchy this weekend to prepare for Round 1 on the 17th of October. If you missed out last weekend don't worry, we have 2 grounds this weekend. Nothing like time in the middle. Please make sure you got spikes! Form attached if you didn't sign up at training this week.
12.01.2022 In a quite unbelievable turn of events, Chad White turns 30 today. One of only two players to hold a medallion for every single 1st XI premiership the Club has ever won, and a nearly 150 game player with six premierships to his name in total. The Club wishes you a very happy birthday and look forward to some change room choobs this weekend!
10.01.2022 Training again tonight ahead of a big weekend of cricket. No dinner but the bar will be open and we’ll be trying to get the remainder of these 100 Club numbers sold. $20 each, with the draw starting as soon as the last number is sold and the winners hopefully being announced at the Calcutta night. 1st $700, 2nd $200, 3rd $100. The easiest way to get all the numbers sold is if everyone could make a bit of an effort to ask some of their family and friends if they’d like to purc...hase a number. If you’d like some numbers, then comment below and either pay tonight or the Club will invoice you. This is a great fund raiser for the Club and can win you some serious cash. Also a reminder that a heap of merch is currently on sale for only $15 each, including all remaining playing and training gear and Club shirts.
09.01.2022 QUIZ NIGHT TONIGHT!!! Doors are officially at 6:30 (although will be open about 5:30), and we will be starting as soon as we think all the teams are there. 09.01.2022 A big happy birthday to legend of the club Steven Rule. Hope you enjoyed a bit of a sleep in today and watching the aussies bring home the Sydney test.

07.01.2022 Elimination final on tomorrow for our Colts at Allen Park, Swanbourne from 3pm. Get down and support if you can. Some of the biggest hitters in the club are in the team and ready to put on a show. So if you are after some T20 afternoon delight head down.
07.01.2022 A very merry Xmas and Boxing Day eve and a happy new year to everyone at MUMCC. Have a safe and relaxing few weeks off and recharge ready for a big tilt at the finals in 2021! See you all back at training on 5 Jan. If you are feeling charitable over the next few days and haven’t already, you can still purchase raffle tickets through the following link or by scanning the we code and go in the draw to win a new car. Would be great to get past the $500 mark. https://toyotagoodforcricketwa.raffletix.com.au/mumcc
07.01.2022 As of December 5, it will be mandatory for all venues in WA to begin recording details (name and phone number only) for all patrons 16 or older. This information is deleted after 28 days. For us, this includes game days and training. To streamline this process, especially for training, we suggest that you download the SafeWA app onto your phone and take 2 minutes set up an account, and then you will just have to scan a QR code that will be fixed to various locations such as... at the nets and the front door and bar of the Club rooms starting this Friday at the Quiz night. All members and visitors will have to scan the QR code or manually enter their details on a Club iPad (or Ruley's phone) every time they visit the Club, except for when you are a listed player on a game day (as we will use the player lists for this). https://safewa.health.wa.gov.au/
06.01.2022 A quiz night prize for the dog lovers joins the growing list of great prizes on offer at the MUMCC quiz night, which is THIS FRIDAY! 05.01.2022 We are CLOSE now, just need two more for the 1-3pm shift at Myraree Bunnings tomorrow.
04.01.2022 Is it true that "Tails never fails"? Or is heads the way forward? Whatever your method of deciding what to choose at the coin toss, there can be no doubt about the importance of getting that decision right (just ask the captains of the current England v India teams). Going back to 2002, below are the results of the coin toss for each captain who has at least 20 games under their belt. Special shout out to Puff, who has won 72% of his games as captain, despite only winning the... toss 30% of the time! If you've ever heard Dave Sammut give a match report, you'll know it's always heads, which makes you wonder why his win rate is only 53%, he must feel sorry for the opposition some times... Rumours that Ian Lyon takes his gun with him to the toss remain at this stage unverified. Random stats, brought to you by the analytical brilliance of Peter Kennelly. Are there any other stats you'd like to see that are captured in Mycricket? Feel free to comment below!
03.01.2022 Reminder: $2 Tacos tonight after training. We will also have some player photos going so please bring your white collar playing shirt. Reminder: $2 Tacos tonight after training. We will also have some player photos going so please bring your white collar playing shirt.
03.01.2022 No dinner after training tonight on this non-selection night, but the bar will be open and we’ll be back with dinner next week. Don’t forget the quiz night is TOMORROW NIGHT!
02.01.2022 Training will be on as usual this afternoon as the last of the rain looks to be passing us now. Might be a little different to normal but we will still get some batting and fielding skills work in even if the nets are a write-off.
02.01.2022 A very happy 30th birthday to six-time premiership player Blair Wardman!
02.01.2022 One week to go until the quiz night, and today I can reveal that we have all of the wine to reward you for your general knowledge, with more to come. 02.01.2022 Thanks to all who came down to our annual presentation night this year. We were lucky to get it in before lockdown! Great to see how we all came together as a club this year and grew across the grades. We truly did the club proud. A special mention must go to newly appointed but long friend of the club and now a life member Ralph Sunley. Ralph has served the club on and off the field for many years, 10 of those as Club Secretary. Congratulations also to Steven Rule for scoring over 1000 points in the season and taking out the Errol Miguel Trophy. Oh and the Barry Chesson went to some bloke called Brody Koelewyn. We are up to 49 years of Melville/Murdoch history, next year is the big 5-0.
01.01.2022 There's nothing worse than walking out to bat without a box! It's time to check the bag or throw it out and re-stock. Armando Sports is offering MUMCC players discounted equipment this Sunday the 11th of October. Head down this weekend to access some great deals and support one of the club sponsors for this year. They open up at 11am so no need to rush enjoy the sleep in and head down after. Make sure you mention "Members day" to access discounts.
