25.01.2022 So my partner, after seeing all the pics of amazing Dads posted all over Facebook and Instagram on Father’s Day, commented why I hadn’t done the same. Well the reason was I didn’t want him getting lost in the flood of photos of our wonderful men, partners, Dads, step Dads, grandfathers, brothers, Uncles, friends etc. And while each and every one is deserving of appreciation, I just wanted to shine a spotlight. I wanted him to know that I appreciate everything he does for us,... for me, for August. He’s hardworking, easy on the eye (in my opinion anyway ), he’s caring and thoughtful, and he makes cute AF babies (when’s the next one? ). ..... .... ... .. Plus, I also kinda forgot Thankyou Dave, we love you Flashback to January when Augie was nearly 5 months old with his Papa and Nonno. 3 generations

25.01.2022 Open your arms to change, but don’t let go of your values ~ Dalai Lama So there have been a few changes recently to Mumma Cow Eco. Some of you may have noticed that the website has had a little makeover since I took over in July, and if you haven’t had a look yet, pop on over and give it a browse. I’m still updating a few things here and there, including the about me page, it’s just finding the time to do it all. I know many of you can relate #mumlife #workingmum #somuchto...dosolittletime I’ve also had to slightly increase the price of shipping to cover costs, however it was only a small increase and is still very affordable, so I hope you will all understand I also have a new logo! While there was nothing wrong with the previous logo from the original owner, the lovely Alyce, I needed to add my own flavour and establish the business as my own, and differentiate myself from the gorgeous Kaela at @mumma.cow Cows are actually my favourite animal which is really what sold the business for me So while there have been some changes, the core values are still the same. Bringing affordable #ecofriendly family products to your door is my main goal. I want to thank those who have supported Mumma Cow Eco from the start, and stuck with it through transitioning to a new owner, and I want to welcome those who are new to Mumma Cow. I’m excited to go on this ride with you and I hope I can bring you all the eco goods. Keep your eyes peeled for new stock as well as restocks, and make sure to check out our #preloved section, there might just be the perfect Christmas gift. I’d love to hear what you think of the new look. What are your thoughts on the new logo? And is there anything you’d like to see different or any products you think I should stock? Tell me in the comments below

Whatever it was, I want to hear about it! 22.01.2022 This sculpture in London was made using plastic found along 2km of UK’s coastline. This is only a drop in the ocean (literally). If this amount was just across 2km, it’s hard to fathom just how much is actually in there. As much as 8 million tonnes of plastic end up in our oceans each year, that’s a truckload full every minute! Excuse my language for a moment, but holy fuck! What the fuck are we doing to our planet and our animals?! ... Christmas time always adds an extra amount of unnecessary waste each year, with plastic toys, wrapping paper, food wrapped in plastics, bon bons filled with useless plastic crap, the list could go on. This year has been a year to show kindness, that includes kindness to our environment and the animals that inhabit it. Why not give a gift of kindness this Christmas and buy one of our @montii.co reusable smoothie cups? You can take it to the movies, grab a smoothie from your local juice bar, or how about a milkshake at your local coffee shop? Just by making this switch, you’re helping to reduce the amount of plastic single use cups, lids and straws, and contributing to saving our planet and the animals that reside here. Jump on the website now and grab yourself or a loved one a smoothie cup today and let’s beat this #waronwaste swipe to see just 4 of the amazing colours I have in stock repost from @4ecosystem

21.01.2022 If you’re anything like me, you’re still yet to buy Father’s Day gifts I’ve got you sorted though with reusable coffee cups, stainless steel pegs (for the homely Dads). Or how about this reusable smoothie cup, perfect for keeping his iced coffee cold for hours, or a pair of these funky bamboo socks. We also have matching pairs for the kids

21.01.2022 Have you got a toy library near you? We signed up at the start of the year as a volunteer, which cost me $40 for one year’s membership. That’s $40 for a year’s supply of toys! For non-volunteer it’s $80, super bloody cheap. There’s so many benefits to a toy library. I’ll lay some of them out for you:... Children grow in and out of toys so quickly, so you can hire toys to suit their age level and needs There’s not just toys, there’s games, puzzles, costumes, outdoor equipment, bikes, scooters, jumping castles and so much more! You save money by not buying toys You save the environment by not adding to the demand of toy production You avoid clutter in your home If you don’t like a toy, you can return it You meet new people Your children meet new people and can have a play while at the library Your child is provided with simulation and learning through play as they won’t get bored from having the same toys And did I mention you save money while saving the environment? Currently my local toy library @lismoretoylibrary2480 are offering 25% discounts on memberships and they also have gift cards available, which would make the perfect Christmas present- a year’s supply of toys, who wouldn’t love that?! Have you considered joining your local toy library, if you’re not already? Pop down and have a look, you might be pleasantly surprised. And if you’re local to the Lismore area, jump on board the current discount, it’s valid until December 15th. Also, don’t forget to check out our selection of Replay Recycled tableware. The snack containers have to be my favourite! They’ve become an essential in my household and generally go everywhere with us now. I took them down to the library on Saturday where August had the best time playing with the other kids and snacking in between He’s a serial snacker my boy. Anyone else got a kid that won’t stop eating?

18.01.2022 Are you sick of your plastic pegs becoming brittle and breaking? Finding little pieces all over the yard or in the bottom of your peg basket? Not being able to use the peg properly because it’s broken? And having to buy new pegs just for them to eventually do the same thing? Cause same! Thankfully our @stainlesssteelpegs.co can satisfy all your peg needs. They’re oh so easy to grip, so even the arthritic hands shouldn’t have trouble. They’re strong and durable, meaning t...hey’ll hold your knickers in place so that they won’t blow off in the wind They don’t get hot in the Australian sun perfect news with Summer around the corner! And best news of all, they’re affordable and won’t cost you an arm and a leg and they won’t cost the earth So when your old pegs start to break and fall apart, why not replace them with our eco-friendly, affordable stainless steel pegs. Have you made the switch yet?

14.01.2022 Water is essential for a healthy gut microbiome. It works with fibre to keep us regular and healthy. I know in Winter I forget to drink as much as I should, are you the same? Got any good tips for keeping up your water intake? One thing I am loving about this colder weather is getting all snuggly as a buggly.

13.01.2022 NEW I’m so super excited to announce that I’m now a stockist for @keepitcreative.au Their values completely align with my own, as they aim to fight plastic consumption and promote awareness and move towards a greener, cleaner planet. ... Their reusable products are made from wheat husks, a bi-product of wheat harvest, which is a biodegradable, plastic and BPA free material Wheat husks and stalks are treated as waste and are often burnt, contributing to air pollution. So not only are these products substituting plastic with a sustainable biodegradable material, they’re also lessening the impact on air pollution and not contributing to the massive production of plastic. Check out these gorgeous bear containers on my website, they come in three different designs in three different colours. They would make a great Christmas gift for anyone and are also perfect for school lunches. BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN THE WORLD What do you think of them? Would you buy one?

13.01.2022 Let’s talk trash. Single use cutlery is one of the most easily disposable items and a leading contributor to #plasticpollution According to @marineconservation.au it is one of the most deadliest plastics for sea turtles, birds and marine animals. They are sharp and end up in waterways and in our oceans and cause serious internal injuries and poisoning.... Less than half of plastic utensils thrown away are recycled. We can all make a contribution and end plastic pollution (hehe I’m a poet), and stop using single throw-away items. Keep a set in your handbag or the glovebox of your car #saynotoplastic #refusesingleuse When we take away the demand, we remove the supply, which inevitably removes production. repost from the talented @ecowithem_ I’m absolutely in love with her work

11.01.2022 How amazing is this?! Our @keli_collective brushes are a finalist for the @australian_non_toxic_awards Such an amazing achievement. Well done Keli Collective! These have been one of our best sellers for the past 2 months. We’ve already sold 5 this month alone, and we’re only 6 days in ... Why do people love them? These detangler brushes are so super soft on the scalp and detangle the toughest of knots on both wet and dry hair. And best of all, when you’re done with it, you can throw it into the compost and it will break down in the soil

11.01.2022 So Part 1 of my epic camping adventure painted a picture of a relaxing family getaway, full of nostalgia and family-fun. Part 2 tells a different story.... So as I said, it was shaping up to be a relaxing week....but then it started to rain....and by rain, I mean it poured, literally non-stop for almost 3 days We were expecting some heavy showers, but the predictions had changed and there was no way for us to know this as we had no reception to check the weather forecast...s. The owner of the property had come by to let us know and told us it was too late to leave as all the causeways coming in and out were completely flooded, so we were best to move to higher ground. We unpegged our tents, and in the pouring rain we man-handled them up the hill one by one. Not an easy feat, especially for my step-dad who has a prosthetic leg. It would have been a sight to see. When we woke the next day the water had broken the banks and was rising. The two little ones ended up catching a cold and didn’t sleep much because of it, so my sister and I spent the rainy days cooped up in our tents or in my sister’s hire caravan (a lifesaver in the whole ordeal) with sick clingy babes, while our older sisters got to run around with the kids playing in the mud and flood water, swinging from trees and exploring hidden gems (lucky bitches ). Thankfully the rain eased and the flood had reached its peak. By this time we were all nearly out of clothes as we now didn’t have a fire to dry anything, our tents were completely covered in spiders, bugs and crickets all fleeing from the floodwater, and we were all a little irritated. Some of our food was also beginning to go off due to being stuck in our humid cars. Our last few days were much nicer however. The sun came out and the clouds disappeared. The water began to subside and we decided to set up camp (for the 3rd time). We were able to light a fire and dry our clothes. The water went down enough for us to go swimming and we washed away the last few days. The drive out was pretty rocky as the water had washed away parts of the road and there was debris everywhere. It was a trip to remember, and one for the family history books.

11.01.2022 A customer shared this picture of gorgeous little Winter rocking her reusable nappy. How sweet is she?! Did you know that it takes approximately 200-500 years for a disposable nappy to decompose? and they have been buried in landfill since they launched for production in 1949. In Australia alone, an estimated 800 million disposable nappies are sent to landfill each year, which globally equates to 450 BILLION nappies a year. That means that every nappy ever produced and disp...osed of is still around to this day! Have you tried cloth, or even thought about it? Tell me below @simonejayde87

09.01.2022 So we were finally able to get out and see some whales (3rd time lucky) What an amazing crew the @bluebaydivers were! The boat was comfortable and had a roof so we were protected from the sun. They knew exactly where the whales were and did their utmost to make our trip a memorable one. Unfortunately two of my workmates felt a little queasy but despite that they still really enjoyed the experience. ... My phone ended up dying, however my sister was able to get some amazing shots. We unfortunately didn’t have any whales breach close by to us, we did see them further away, but we had plenty cruising close by checking us out. What an amazing day! I will definitely be going back, and even if you’re unlucky to see any whales, the boat ride was super exhilarating, plus you get your money back Anyone else been whale watching? Anyone haven’t yet but wanting to go?

07.01.2022 Apparently it’s World Bamboo Day tomorrow So what’s the deal with bamboo? You might be surprised to know that it’s not actually a tree, but technically a grass. And it’s the world’s fastest growing plant, with some species growing up to 3ft in one day. Yes, that’s right, I said one day It takes years for most trees to get anywhere near that height. Bamboo also releases 30% more oxygen into the atmosphere compared to other plants and has the ability to self-renew meaning d...eforestation is unnecessary, thus making it a highly sustainable crop to create numerous products. One of these being the humble toothbrush. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. This is the easiest eco swap that you could ever make! And just by changing your brush, you are minimising the 30 million plastic toothbrushes that are thrown away in Australia each year! With proper care they are just as effective and last just as long as any manual plastic toothbrush, however without having to put nasty chemicals in your mouth twice a day. Just remove the bristles with pliers and place the handle in your compost bin when you’re done. It’s a win for you and it’s a win for the environment Tell me in the comments below if you’ve made the switch ***It is recommended that you replace your toothbrush every 3 months***
