25.01.2022 10yrs ago if you had told me I’d be running a 22km race through the blue mountains I would have laughed. 10yrs ago was pre-kids, but to be honest if you have raised kids, then really you can do anything right? Now this is a huge goal that I’ve accomplished for myself, but when it comes to accomplishing goals, it doesn’t need to be run a half marathon, your goal might be to start exercising, lift a certain amount of weight or to exercise consistently for better mental health.... Why have a goal? It gives you a better direction towards why you are training. With a goal insight it becomes harder to say ‘I’ll exercise tomorrow’ because often you will have set a timeline towards achieving your goals. Have you set a goal with your fitness/exercise? I’d love for you to share below (often this can make your goal more real/accountable when you have said it out loud!). Need help setting a goal? 20.01.2022 As we come to the years end, I’ve been reflecting on the year that was. I’m so incredibly impressed with the resilience displayed by the ladies I train. Moving to Zoom sessions, trying out online sessions and the excitement of returning to face to face sessions. What a year! What worked though? Their determination to not let this year take away their fitness goals. Regardless the format they had to work with, these ladies have remained consistent. ... I’m so incredibly impressed with their achievements this year - so to my clients this one is for you! Ps want to work with me in 2021? 01.01.2022 It’s easier to clean the chicken coop out now. I can squat for longer which makes it much faster One of my clients shared this with me and I celebrated. Often we exercise for the exterior wins such as how much weight we have lost. The interior wins are the big ones though - ability to go about life easier, the heart attack that was prevented, the muscles that don’t degenerate etc It’s easy to forget the things we are preventing by exercising regularly because you can’t ...visibly see the wins, but they are there, happening on the inside! This is why I encourage you to move away from the ‘I want to lose weight’ New Years goal. Yes, this can still be done, but perhaps consider flipping this to ‘I want to exercise consistently and I will do this by doing xyz Then get to know your why. Why are you choosing that goal? Is it for the internal health? Is it to ensure you have a long able bodied life? Is it to address an inner health concern? Have you set your New Years goal?
