24.01.2022 When you get the chance to fill someone else’s tank! It’s what I want my blog to jump into. What would be your things of interest? This kind of thing could quite easily be you next time! It was a 46.5 hr weekend adventure this time around! Longer than my usual 24hr challenge but it was my sister. A slower pace and yet still jam packed! Might have tuckered out Michelle/Shelley as I tailored a tour to align her ‘holiday checklist’. ... Road trip Accommodation/toilet Let’s call her...the indulged older sister. More on the pics. I was this close to getting her on a helicopter but our run was left too late. Damn it. Next time for sure!! Myrtleford to Bright to Mansfield to Mt Buller to Jamieson to Bonnie Doon to Marysville to home! The pics are put in ad hoc...but they’ve all got the story! Returned her home safely!

23.01.2022 Well that was a busy day!! I have been consumed by the photo challenge and I was able to knock heaps of them over today. Remember I cannot tag you all because your settings won’t allow it...so find yourself listed. I’m only half way through. I’m saving the hardest ones until last...putting them off is another way to say it. You’ve got to go to the pics for the rundown! ... Lots to review. Sorry not sorry. 20.01.2022 Quick dash get away to the city! Nothing but fond memories made. Well...there is always a little bit of silliness that we slide sideways into. It’s just how the #KinderBabes roll. Travellers tip - holidays with kids can be cheap and quick too...no big planning needed. Just go. The opportunity for connection is so valuable. They grow up so quick. Create moments as often as you can. Plus if they want to come...they must have their bedroom clean. Works a treat with a quicker... response. It feels likes ages since I’ve done a post! This one is the normal deal...pics and commentary but in future they might start looking a little different! I’m excited about it! Watch this space!

19.01.2022 Adventure time! Starts whatever time you’re ready!! Grateful Covid restrictions lifted enough for me to go for a long drive! ... I’m also going to stretch it out longer than the normal 24hrs.

19.01.2022 From my humble accommodation in Port Wakefield I hooked it, around to Port Lincoln. I can check out things I’ve missed on the way back. It’s been a big start...but I promise the rest will be much more relaxed. So stick with it. I’m chasing my tank fillers...majestic views and a lovely new step dad for the kids! (that joke was for gee!)

17.01.2022 Wrapped up Gma’s trip and started my own adventure today. A big day for mum wrapping up an emotional four days of touring through her youth. Great fun though. I had forgotten to explain a significant bit. Here’s a brief snapshot as to why mum and her twin ended up in a children’s home. A major gap in my story telling. Their mum got pre-eclampsia during late stages of pregnancy. In 1943 they just had to hope it would be ok. Firstly their mum went blind during delivery so may... have held her babes, and she definitely named them, but she never actually ‘saw’ them. She unfortunately died 3 days later. My Pa now had 5 very young children and no way of looking after them on his own. The three older children went to stay at my great Aunty’s with Pa. The twins were not able to go somewhere together so they went into a home voluntarily. Fortunately twins have their best friend with them, and so my Aunty Rosemary and my mum are still very close and live near each other in Queensland. They have very positive memories of the whole experience. My fav story was a more recent one(27yrs ago). My mum was at uni at age 50 and randomly met a lady in her class named Ruth. She was the daughter of a lady who actually worked in the home we found today, who occasionally took mum and Rosie home to her own family on the weekend. Which is frigging amazing really. They just chatted and joined the dots in an art class. You could imagine how excited mum was. Pa loved them both dearly and would visit them in the home every Saturday. This is an amazing story that mum is documenting in a book. Now back to the adventure side of things...met a friendly painter with a great story, grabbed a cuppa/juice in ‘poor mans Carlton’, dropped mum at the airport, hustled on some serious Kms still capturing moments along the way and now find myself on the other side of Adelaide. Phew!! And...goodnight.

Beaches, early morning walks, sunshine, fresh air, no concept of time, daytime naps, community art, tunes in my car, clear mind..... ....forgotten bras, might take up running, sunburn, ghost town, unwanted dinner dates...... ...late checkin to c’van park, doing washing with a hot guy, warm summer breezes, friends that make me snort laugh, feeling support and love. What more could I ask for?

Rest assured I was always gunna get out to share the story! Ps. My back up plan to the back up plan was leave my car there until summer! It’s only a car right?!

13.01.2022 It’s not been easy... being an adventurous soul locked up in isolation for 2 months. It could actually be the home schooling that’s been the hardest bit!! Whatever the frustration...I had to go looking for the light at the end of the tunnel today. Not an overnighter yet...but as soon as I’m allowed...I’ll be back on the open road. ... 12.01.2022 24hr challenge number 4. Anglesea and nearby. It’s not all about the destination, but more the journey to get there. I sleep in my car. I think too much. I have funny misadventures. 08.01.2022 Seeking a tank filler to round out the Easter long weekend. Home alone without my babes sucks. On a whim, I snuck in a sunset from a mountain top. Bit of reflective time in the car with the tunes playing soothes my soul! No definitive answers on this trip though. Damn it.

08.01.2022 39/40 degrees was reason enough to get outta Port Augusta...but the town was basically closed too. Snuck a couple of things in before heading south to Adelaide and found a crowd at Glenelg.

05.01.2022 I have a dialogue in my head all day while exploring on my adventures. But now I’m home and tired...it’s just short and sweet. My last day out and about!!

05.01.2022 It always nice to get away on my little solo adventures from time to time...but nothing beats hanging with my #kinderbabes . We laugh and talk and laugh some more. Keeping them all happy can be challenging though. Reality not always in a picture. Gees pretty cruisy but can pick shit music for hours on end...which can be painful on a long road trip. Imy doesn’t have ANY sense of adventure and stressed out when we had 25kms of fuel in the car to travel 45kms to Lorne, cos Apol...lo Bay doesn’t have a servo. (we made it by the way!) Just part of the fun. Darci can be down right demanding wanting 3 meals a day...is it that important? She sparks up if I add water so we kept the beach close by in case of emergencies. Threatening to throw her in occasionally. But all in all... I love how each kid is different and how they interact. They are interesting and independent thinkers. So many fun memories made.
