24.01.2022 Weeds! The seeds can live in the soil for years, and they thrive on neglect unlike our lawns and vege patches. When using chemicals to eradicate weeds from the lawn, make sure those chemicals are compatible with the type of grass you have. Of course, it pays to know what sort of grass you have green and blue couch for instance are two different types of grass with different requirements. Another golden rule - dont spray for weeds straight after mowing. If you mow every second weekend, then spray on the weekend in between.

10.01.2022 With spring in full flight, it’s not only the grass that’s growing like crazy. Hedges are getting woolly awfully quickly too. Getting a professional finish to your hedges is easy, but there are some tricks. I almost always use a pole hedger the extra length allows you to stand back and see the overall shape while you work. This is especially helpful when shaping topiaries, as well as creating super straight edges on box-shape hedges.

03.01.2022 When trimming hedges, don't forget the bottom edges. The strong diagonal lines on these Murrayas at Narangba add "visual drama". These plants have been trimmed this way for more than four years now.

01.01.2022 After all the rain this week, brace yourself for a cacophony of small engines this weekend - weather permitting, of course!
