24.01.2022 Another lovely day out, bowling against our own. Congrats to the various winners. We had some unexpected highlights and in the coming week we expect to see the Stars of our group making a name for themselves. It should be interesting.

23.01.2022 Well, hello to everybody. Long time no see. I miss our bowling dates so I suppose you are the same. It gets hard to find something to do. How many cupboards can we clean out? Where do we put the Stuff. If its left long enough, I tend have a look and put some back. Who else does that? Running out of interesting things to do so casting about. I've even bought some airmail stamps to write letters. With this shutdown at least the Post Office will deliver the letters. I usually ...email and get them hand delivered. Even sent cards to great grandies so might get mail back. It will be interesting pictures because they can't write yet. Anybody got any suggestions to pass on. I'm not into craft except knitting, The garden doesn't look as neglected, not that that says a lot. Guess who doesn't like gardening much? If you like reading and have a Kindle book reader, I do recommend an author. Check out T.J. Beach. His book The Last Guerilla is free on Kindle until Sunday. His Blog is very interesting too and he has other books. Keep well and I'll see you sometime. Enid See more

22.01.2022 Another lovely day out with the Club. Bowling all day at the Beckenham venue at the Mills Park. What a lovely place that is, with good views and happy people. Lovely afternoon tea as always. Couldn't claim best team players as, after all the games, we ended up even on the day. We look forward to their visit to us next time. Thank you to all.

20.01.2022 It's been a very busy week here at the Club. Our usual Monday and Wednesday casual games with a good turnout as always. On Tuesday we took six teams to Northam on our buses for the annual reciprocal game against each other. They have a lovely venue for playing and, being a country club, we received a fabulous morning tea welcome. The games were hard fought and it doesn't matter who wins or loses. Then of course another fabulous afternoon tea to make sure we're well fed for t...he drive home. Thank you to Aileen and Des for organising the games. It has a lot of thought put into it, and to our drivers on the day. Thank you to Northam for a lovely day and we look forward to your visit to us. Two buses again on Thursday for another day out. An invitation to Pinewood Village, Ellenbrook, for a lovely morning tea. This was accompanied by a tour round some of their lovely homes, and the facilities for use by residents. We were very impressed by them, and thank the residents who shared their time with us. So much to do with like minded people and food for thought for us all. Thank you to the proprietors of the village for their donation, and to our drivers, Jackie and Mal, Mary for the organisation for this, and for all their other contrbutions to our Club. We treasure them.

17.01.2022 Seems a bit quiet? Not really. We are still out and about. Last week south of the border ( river) to get severely beaten be a lovely club. We can get our own back come August, we hope. Compensated by delish fish and chips lunch together and lots of laughter. Next week a home game, so more food, a great afternoon tea. Come join us, we have fun. By the way, congratulations to a popular member of ours. Mary was nominated as a Local Legend for the Hills community by the Bendigo Bank. None more worthy of that as we all know, and still continuing to support in any way she can. Proud to know you Mary, and very well done. Our numbers are growing so come check us out. We're a good mob.

16.01.2022 Just seen Mal's post to say our bowling group interviews are on ABC tonight at 7.30. Bet its been cut to pieces but I for one will be looking at it. Pass on to anyone you know as not all of us are on computers.

10.01.2022 Another lovely outing taken. Thanks again to our cheerful driver. He is a treasure. This time it was a 2 hour tour of the new Optus Stadium. Much more to see than expected and we saw everything. Unfortunately none of the stars who play there, but we did see all of their secret places!!! Much enjoyed by us older citizens, and we had all our excercise for this coming week. The FitBit said we did 4 kilometres. Thank you to our Official Guide Bob, a very friendly and informative gentleman. It justified us enjoying the lunch at the High Wycombe Pub, and so home for a nanny nap. Looking forward to the next time somewhere. As usual we invite you all to join us.

10.01.2022 Well, i might be travelling around the world, but who is telling me what is going on around the Club? Christmas lunches organised, windups organised, Melbourne Cup lunches suggested. Things happening but how are the games going? What's happening to everybody? Anything interesting? Anybody can add comments you know. Miss you all sometimes, but not much at the moment. Travelled half way round the world so far and just been through the Panama Canal. What an amazing experience. Hotter and more humid than Perth. So interesting but nothing beats our lovely State. I hope we have volunteers for next years Bowling Cte. Not rushing back, still the other half of the world to pass through. Home all too soon really and in no hurry. Best wishes to all.

09.01.2022 Just as we thought. Not enough shown to justify all the time spent with us. Definitely no job satisfaction for me in that career.

05.01.2022 As most of our regular bowlers know, we have survived this weird time in our lives. Thanks to lockdown, we are now ready to socialise again. Bowls will tentatively restart again on Monday 6th July, from 1.00pm and general play will be available on Mondays and Wednesdays providing we get enough numbers. There is no visiting team competition planned in the near future. Please attend if possible so that we are assured of sufficient numbers. All Covid requirements are in place but members are encouraged to bring and use any personal items they are happy with. Afternoon tea will be available. Enid.

04.01.2022 Just because you haven't heard from us, don't believe nothing is happening at the Bowls. We still play most Mondays and Wednesdays, and still play bowls against another dozen clubs twice a year ((home and away). Today we played home against Gosnells. Some 50+ lads and lasses in the hall, and much laughter and joy. Who won doesn't matter, but we have threatening looks for our return match in a couple of weeks. We won't go down easily. A lovely afternoon tea was enjoyed before they left to face the traffic. Christmas is coming, with a few extra outings so we are happy. Come join us, especially any Monday except a Long Weekend. We look foward to meeting you.

04.01.2022 Another lovely outing. Following an interesting visit to Marloo Theatre yesterday afternoon our lovely member driver took our group to Kings Park to see the poppies. The 62 000 were amazing and we were so happy not to have missed them. Thanks again to our treasurer of a driver who is much appreciated. We all know who he is.

04.01.2022 Oh dear. Not 7.30pm. 7.00 pm or sometime after that.

01.01.2022 We have been operating for five weeks now and again enjoying the companionship and laughter. Such a relief to have interaction with our long time friends on a face to face basis. We have reduced numbers as we expected but we have good numbers most games. Numbers do fluctuate but always two mats. It is our AGM next Wednesday at 11am so we hope for a quorum. Bring your .lunch and have an outing. We have some nominations for positions but always welcome added enthusiasm. Best wishes to all members for good health, and we hope to see you back with us one day.
