The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale Bushfire Awareness Team and Bushy the Bear visited to read stories and share some important information on Fire Safety. 24 children and their caregivers enjoyed the session, dressing up and taking photos with Bushy. 10.01.2022 Thank you to local resident Neryl, a Shero volunteer for Share the Dignity’s "It's in the Bag" campaign, for collecting bags that have been generously donated by a local resident. Thank you to the local family who have viewed the website www.sharethedignity.org.au , selected relevant products and chose beautiful bags that will go directly to someone living in crisis and in need of support during a difficult time. Through the Share the Dignity campaign, support is given to people from all different backgrounds, including those experiencing domestic violence, homelessness, drought stricken farmers and remote indigenous communities.
09.01.2022 SJ Camera Club This locally based group who meet at Landcare SJ on the first Thursday of the month, have a collection of works from some of their members on display in the library as part of the Create Exhibition. There is a range of images capturing some stunning scenery and lovely people.... The purpose of the group is to join with like-minded people to learn new skills and enjoy the art of photography. 07.01.2022 Thank you to the members of the Mundijong Arts and Crafts group who were some of the first people to submit their creative pieces to the library CREATE exhibition . The group welcomes new members to join them at the Mundijong Railway station building on Thursdays 10am to 12 noon. Bring along your latest project that could include painting, drawing, card making , sewing , knitting, crochet , patchwork and quilting. On Fridays the focus is on sewing quilts, beginners welcome. Some of the group’s work such as teddy bears and quilts are made for Crisis Care in Byford. For further information contact 0400 243 951.
