13.01.2022 Gilgandra Jockey Club kicked off the 2020/21 NSW Picnic Racing season on Saturday and leading hoop Maddy Wright couldn't have asked for a better start, riding a hat trick and winning the race named after her.

07.01.2022 MESSAGE FROM THE MPRC; As a result of the committee meeting held on Friday 9th October 2020, the decision has been made to cancel the 2020 Picnic Races that wer...e to be held on the 28th of December. We understand the Trangie Picnic Races are a right of passage for many partygoers and will leave a huge hole in social calendars between the Christmas and New Years period. This regretful decision has not been taken lightly. However, due to current limitations and the uncertainty of restrictions in the future, we would be unable to run a successful event nor have the resources to hold an event of our size safely. The committee also strongly feels they have an obligation to keep the Trangie community safe. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our valued and generous sponsors, the Trangie and surrounding community for their ongoing support, the horse racing community and of course our fun-loving partying patrons. Please know we will be working hard behind the scenes to come back bigger and better to celebrate country racing at our next event! The Land
