16.01.2022 2 brave members went to Goondiwindi rifle range today to take part in this year’s internet shoot. It’s a very trying event this time of the year. The match is organised by the gundy club. Great work guys I think 145 shooters from all across the country and a few competitors from NZ. It’s conducted at 600y or 600M on electronic targets 2 non convertible sighters and 20 scoring shoots. Then all results are sent to the gundy scores. Well done to both Mungindi shooters. ... A grade Ben Picton 100-9 3rd overall. 13.01.2022 Full-bore target rifle shooting is one of the few sports that sees children (12+) and veterans competing on a level playing field. A 12 year old can be half your height and outshoot you on the range. Equally, just because you're 65+ doesn't mean you can't be highly competitive and be on top of the podium. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING: it is fun - there's no doubt. Becoming competitive at prize meets, teams and state/national/international events requires 'hard work' and dedicati...on at many levels - just like any other sport! Making that happen is up to you. Ask questions, listen, learn, try and repeat. Dream the dream! And always enjoy! For many however, it's enough to enjoy our clubs, enjoy the company and laugh at our ups and downs on the range. The competition is within us - to better ourselves. The days are filled with people who laugh with us! So, if you're up for a shot at Mungindi Rifle Range or want to challenge yourself in the world of competitive full-bore target rifle, flick Ben a message if you’d like to come and have a shot.
13.01.2022 Sunday the club held the Christmas from 600yds. What a role up of old, new and future members. Very trying conditions where experienced by all with the wind changing direction and strength at will. A great day was had by all. It’s a great testament to the silver mountain targets to role through 21 shooters in under 3 hrs. Awesome shooting by everyone. We then retreated to the club house for a nice refreshments. The club will be taking a small break over the Christmas/new year period. Shooting recommencement date will be advertised in the new year.
