25.01.2022 This cafe racer was designed to portray the potential of a Forkless custom motorcycle using a donor BMW. The 2nd May 2020 saw ...the online launch of this personal project designed and virtually built by Rajesh Kutty during the Covid 19 lock down period in England. By separating the steering, braking, and suspension functions, there would be no dive or stiction, and very little lateral flex. The lighter chassis would not be channeling suspension forces into the headstock anymore! Rajesh have used the underpinnings of a BMW R Nine T to design the cafe racer motorcycle. As seen in the construction lines, the bike has been designed to have a stance with the visual weight at the centre. See more

16.01.2022 Quite a Combination Anyone who has watched The Great Escape will be familiar with the Wehrmacht R75 motorcycle combinations which appear in several scenes and which were issued to the German army in the early years of WWII but, outside their enthusiast following, few people appreciate just how remarkable they were. Producing a mere 26bhp, the 750cc engines had a compression ratio of just 5.6:1, meaning they could run on fuel of the worst possible quality. They had eight forward and two reverse gears, a driven sidecar wheel with a locking differential, and all three wheels were interchangeable. There were hand and foot warmers heated by exhaust gases but the dry weight of the outfit was 420kg!

09.01.2022 1939 BMW R61 | Germany The BMW R61 was first introduced to the public at an exhibition in Berlin in 1938. Its main feature was a telescopic rear suspension. ...The motorcycle had a two-cylinder, 600 ccm SV engine with an output of 18 hp at 4800 rpm. It also had a four-speed transmission, a dry single disc clutch, drum-type brakes, and a double tubular steel frame. The BMW R61 was known for its outstanding reliability and was regularly delivered to the Dutch and German armies. This model was the most favoured means of transportation of Wehrmacht soldiers.
