25.01.2022 Be smarter than the tax scams out there There are many scammers out there that have been too successful in their endeavours to undermine Australian taxpayers......so unfortunately they are continuing their pursuits AND have even stepped up their game in 2019!!!... If you receive an unexpected text or email or phone-call (including recorded messages when you answer the phone) and they say they are from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), it is very likely to be a scam, unless you are aware of an ATO debt you have OR a BAS lodgement coming up OR you know you have an overdue tax return OR you have requested something from the ATO. If anything about the text or email or phone-call sounds fishy OR just doesnt make sense OR is asking you to enter personal information/passwords etc OR is asking you to make payments in unusual ways, dont reply to the email/text AND simply hang up on the phone-call AND check your situation with your Tax Agent or directly with ATO (13 28 61) Also visit www.munkoaccounting.com.au for more ATO links on the scams

Now to finish off the final 25 by 30th June, so I can get ready for 2020 tax season
