20.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Queensland state school students will return to the classroom in stages, starting from Monday May 11. This is what families need to know...: Students in Kindy, Prep, Year 1, Year 11 and 12 will return to school Students in Years 2-10 will continue remote learning at home Children of essential workers & vulnerable children in Years 2- 10 are still able to attend school We will review the situation on May 15, with the goal to welcome back all year levels to school on May 25 if low COVID-19 transmission rates continue. Some parents/carers of students in Kindy-Year 1, Year 11-12 may still choose to keep their children at home and that is respected. In these cases, parents/carers are responsible for ensuring their children stay home and continue working on learning material already provided by teachers & resources on the learning@home website. These changes are all in line with the advice of health experts both here in Queensland and in Canberra. We believe this phased return to school is the safest and most sensible approach for Queensland families during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a community, it's important that we don’t jeopardise the great work done so far in flattening the curve. I’d like to acknowledge each and every Queensland parent, carer, teacher, principal, staff member and student - we know it hasn’t been easy. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

11.01.2022 A huge welcome to Mrs Westbrook. Mrs Westbrook is replacing me while I go on maternity leave for the rest of this term. She starts on Monday and I completed a handover with her on Thursday. She has taught in the P to 2 room for around 12 weeks when Mrs Hughes went on Long Service Leave last year. She has been a relief teacher at our school for the older students too. For Term 3 and 4, Mrs Smith is replacing me. Note: not Lori Smith. I wish all students, staff and families the best for the rest of the year. I look forward to returning to school next year.
