25.01.2022 A massive thankyou to all that attended the Melbourne cup luncheon yesterday. It was a great day full of laughter and fun times, chef Leanne put on a great meal suitable for the weather outside. A big thankyou to all who were involved and a special thanks to Ken Graetz, Eric Williams and Bob McCormick for all their hard work with the sweeps. Well done to everyone.

23.01.2022 It is with sadness that we advise members of the passing of our past member and friend Mr Des Behlau. Des has experienced waning health over the past 3 years and has been missed on the course or at the occasional dinner evenings. Our sympathies to his daughter Katie and his family. Des was 86 last week. Vale Des Behlau.

Some of our dedicated volunteers chatting over a snag at completion of the uplift and transfer. Good work all.

21.01.2022 Congrats to chef and staff of the MBGC for providing a great Mother's Day roast lunch. Well done to Nancy Plummer on winning the Drakes Super Market gift basket. Some 80 meals delivered with very happy guests. Thanks to Drakes, lake Breeze wines and Bleasdale wines for their continued support. Hope all mothers had a great day here and everywhere.

19.01.2022 Attention Members & Guests Given the Covid-19 ‘lockdown’ restrictions have been lifted and government’s indication of further lifting of the 25% occupancy rules etc. on 1st December, we have rescheduled the H & T Day for Sunday 13th December. Note the starting time will be brought forward from 10am to 9am to help compensate any hot weather predictions and possibly allow that extra hour for those who have already organised later Xmas functions etc.... Therefore members who had already nominated will retain their booking and same tee block allocation. Original cart bookings will also be retained. However we ask that all these members to please notify the Pro Shop Staff, either by email [email protected] , phone 85326535 Ext 1 or in person and confirm your attendance/non-attendance on the 13th. Early replies much appreciated. We apologise for any inconveniences.

19.01.2022 VOLUNTEER PAYBACK Last Friday night we had Cheryl Aldridge who volunteers in the kitchen win the members draw of $150. Then we had our volunteer meat tray ticket salesman Brian Mumford kick off the meat tray winners being the first one to win a meat tray, following Brian was one of our grounds volunteers Bryan "Squashy" Squires win meat trays 2 and 3, the 4th meat tray went to one of our visiting guests and last but not least our final meat tray went to clubhouse volunteer Ellen Paech. congratulations to all. Thus, bingo, twilight Thursday golf, all green fee visitors, visiting clubs, Rotary day, ham and turkey day, Friday night dinners and all member golf and activities are now cancelled due to lock down until further advice. Management regrets this action but supports all efforts to combat any Covid -19 outbreak. We will welcome you all with open arms as soon as we are able to do so. 10.01.2022 Hi all. Here is an update on how the golf club is travelling through the covid-19 situation a message from the club president. We received a call from the Federal member for Barker, Tony Pasin the other day confirming the MBGC club had been successful with our recent grant application to redevelop the golf course and the clubhouse. This is fantastic news for the club, our members and guest players are already well aware that we have one of the best regional courses in the st...ate. This project, which incorporates a course redesign from Neil Crafter and together with the clubhouse redevelopment the project will be transformational for the club and our members, the project includes Redevelopment of the Murray Bridge Golf Course to upgrade it from a Par 68 to Par 71 championship course, including 2 holes integrated into the design of the Newbridge development. Club infrastructure will also be extended, including the clubhouse, pergola, buggy shed and greenkeepers shed. Building infrastructure works will be undertaken in two phases ie. Phase 1 Golf course works and Phase 2 Internal clubroom renovations and building extensions. The two new holes will be integrated into the Newbridge residential estate a development that includes up to 400 housing allotments, potential retirement living, tourist accommodation and potential community sporting oval. We will provide details of the plan in clubhouse and share more information as we work through the project details. Clubhouse Reopening Premier Marshall recent relaxing of COVID-19 restrictions has allowed us to reopen the clubhouse this week, which means we can enjoy a refreshment and socialising after a game with some restrictions - as follows, Seating for maximum 20 people in the Sprig Bar and 20 people in the Main Dining area Alcohol can be served but customers must be seated. (No meals as yet - still working through this process) Tables and chairs are placed to meet social distancing rules and can’t be moved. Please follow staff instructions at all times, all other social distancing restrictions still apply We would like to thankyou all for your continued support and adjustments to the changes.

07.01.2022 After a fantastic Super Friday Night member draw over 90 members and guests enjoyed a great dinner and a lot of fun. Then today nearly 80 players participated in the traditional Christmas Ambrose with the support of Phil and Jill Kowald of Eastside Bearings and Brake. Green keepers had the players stunned with some of their pin placements which in turn led to a lot of stories in the clubhouse over a fine Xmas lunch. Thank you to our great staff and volunteers for making these last two days memorable events. The clubhouse will be open for business 7 days a week as of Monday the 29th of June with strict covid-19 regulations, we ask that you abide by staff directions while these regulations are in place. All you bingo lovers out there your time has come bingo will resume on the Thursday the 2nd of July.... Meals will resume on Friday the 3rd of July with an all new menu that newly appointed chef Leanne has put together. 03.01.2022 Ham and turkey day was a big success with 90 starters from 19 golf clubs attending and enjoying a great days golf. Local member Peter Jones holds the winners ham much to his delight after carding a splendid 39 points on countback. With support from Drakes Supermarkets the club provided around $1500 of ham and turkey prizes for the winners list. Well done all volunteers, players and staff for keeping the day running so well.

03.01.2022 Thursday twilight players are advised that we are able to hit off again this week (3rd Dec) given Covid restrictions outdoors has been reset to 1:2m2 with social distancing and sanitising practises enforced. Duck will reconfirm with a call to team leaders. Inside Covid restrictions still apply and Bingo and public dining will continue with the current limits and practices in place until further notice. 03.01.2022 Staff and committee of the golf club were let loose at the bowling ally last night. After a very challenging year it was great to get together and have some fun. It was a night full of laughter and fun times. A great night was had by all. A big thankyou to everyone for their hard work and support throughout this difficult year.
