Follow the interpretative signage along the Murray River and backwaters (which are a haven for birdlife ). The best part is that anyone over 12 years old can have a go - just choose a section that is best suited to your capability. You could make this an opportunity to reconnect with friends or family with a picnic lunch by the water. Want to keep exploring? This area links to the Mowantjie Willauwar Conservation Park in Tailem Bend, and the Murray Coorong Trail, where you can walk or cycle through Tailem Bend, Meningie and along the edge of the globally renowned Coorong. 07.01.2022 What an incredible morning along one of the stretches of the 450km Murray Coorong Trail, where Minister David Speirs MP announced a new partnership between our local Councils, Murray River, Lakes and Coorong Tourism Alliance and the SA Dept for Environment and Water. Regional leaders were on site with the Minister and Ngarrindjeri man Harley Hall today to celebrate the news and start planning the next steps for the trail! Already there are 4 sections constructed, totaling jus...t over 30kms of walking/cycling trail. The trails run along the water's edge through towns such as Meningie, Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend and Mannum - with remarkable views - just like this!
