24.01.2022 Health services often have different referral guidelines for specialist clinics, making it challenging for GPs to know the necessary referral requirements and suitability of access for their patients. The Victorian Department of Health has developed clear and consistent criteria for several specialties across Victoria to help clinicians refer their patients to the right place, to receive the most timely and appropriate care. From tomorrow, referrals to these specialties in V...ictorian public hospitals will need to meet the new statewide criteria, or risk being returned.
