Townships in River Co...untry will light up brighter as part of this festive lighting displays. Wonder through the enchanted forest in Moulamein, wish upon a star in Koraleigh, discover the illuminated trail in Barham and admire the giant wreaths in Moama and Mathoura. From 4 December 2020 to 3 January 2021 River Country will showcase unique lighting installations from lit up boardwalks, projection lighting, festive decorations, vivid stars and family festive spaces. Explore the rain garden, Indigenous plantings, rock seating walls and gravel and lawn areas. ... Take a break and have a picnic under one of the two glorious Morton Bay Fig Trees while you admire this stunning life size bronze sculpture by David Maughan. Named La Belle Hélène 2 (the title refers to Offenbach’s opera of the same name) the sculpture is of the artist’s wife Helen Choules, a dancer with the Australian National Theatre before the formation of the Borovansky Ballet or Australian Ballet. The donated sculpture is one of a pair and one of only two castings. One pair is set outside the Arts Centre Melbourne.
