24.01.2022 Whilst recently completing some pruning on this large River Red Gum, we spotted a very bad branch union, approx 60ft up the tree. The branch was quite large and was directly over hanging the clients shed. If it was to fail it would have caused significant damage. 21.01.2022 Have you ever wondered what a tree’s root system looks like !? Check out this picture of our stump grinder half way through a large River Red Gum stump! This tree was approx 65ft tall and was cut flush with the ground. Contrary to popular belief, trees are not like carrots and do not go down as deep as they are tall! Most tree root systems are shallow (within the top 600mm of soil) but can spread very far! 14.01.2022 Huge day yesterday removing this monster Redgum (plus a few smaller trees) in Shepparton! Due to a sprinkler system, adjacent trees, power outlet and a pristine lawn most of the tree had to be carefully rigged and lowered, with a few pieces in excess of 250kg!! The final trunk section weighed in at just under 10 tonne Crew tackled it head on and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge

05.01.2022 TREE LOPPING We recently removed this large Yellowbox tree that had been previously lopped. Lopping is a poor pruning practice, and often results in excessive epicormic growth (pic 2), which grows quickly and is weakly attached. This growth can then become a significant hazard. When the trunk was felled, the tree easily failed at the old lopping cuts (pic 3). This tree would have been more structurally sound prior to being cut in half. ... 03.01.2022 We did some work on this huge 65 year old Oak tree in Bundalong today! 1/3 end weight reduction on branch over the top of the house and a very minor up lift. Great care needs to be taken when pruning these old beauties!
