14.01.2022 Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and the first day of the 16 Days of Activism global campaign. This year's theme is... Orange the World: Fund, Respond, Prevent, Collect! Today, join us in raising awareness and supporting services by wearing orange, walking against violence, and sharing information about prevention and support. For more information on 16 Days, visit the UN Women website: https://www.unwomen.org//e/take-action/16-days-of-activism During 16 Days, we'll be sharing tips on how to respond to someone who has experienced violence and abuse. We invite you to share them across social media with the hashtag #16Responses. We'll also be recognising the 10th anniversary of the 1800RESPECT service. In 2010, 1800RESPECT began as the national counselling service under the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children, providing information, referrals and counselling to anyone living in Australia who has experienced violence and abuse. We'll share information about our service and how we have responded to sexual assault, domestic and family violence in Australia. #10Years1800RESPECT #16Days #OrangeTheWorld
