19.01.2022 It is with regret that we are advising that we are cancelling the 2020 ARB Murrumba Magic in October. There are a number of reasons for this decision, with the primary one being that over 2/3 of our club's key volunteers are in the most at risk age group for Covid-19. We also feel quite strongly that all members should be able to attend. It is been a tough couple of years for ride organisers, and many in our club just want to take a break. What you see us do on the day of ...a ride is only about 20% of the work involved in hosting an event. We understand some will be very disappointed, and that October is a long way away and you're probably wondering why we've made the decision now. It gives another club 8 weeks to organise something for our weekend. We'll be back next year, with the ARB Murrumba Magic on our usual second weekend of August 2021.

15.01.2022 We had a great AGM, Club Meeting and Christmas Party. Our exec committee remains unchanged, we didn't do a lot this year so we decided we weren't burnt out. President: Chris Nichols Vice President: Greg Garred Secretary: Anne Barlow... Treasurer: Debbie Edwards Ride Secretary: Leisa Collins (but she wasn't at the meeting and we haven't told her yet.) Thanks to the Woodford Gardens for opening up specially for our group on Saturday night.

13.01.2022 This morning from QERA SMC.

13.01.2022 We will be having our first meeting of 2020 on Wednesday night this week, which is the 19th February at Greg's place, 360 Bellmere Road, Bellmere starting at 7:00pm. Once again, sorry about the short notice, but Anne's computer died and she couldn't send the notice out. It would great if we could have all the members (and any new members are very welcome) attend, lots to discuss.

13.01.2022 Thanks to those members who attended our first meeting for 2020! And welcome Lisa Stibbe and Jess Blinco! Chaired by Chris Nichols, MERC President for 2020. Our ride format looks like changing to a Saturday afternoon/evening ride, 83 kms/40kms. We look forward to a busy year with the occasional short ride and possibly Saturday arvo meeting so that more members and riders can join in the fun!

10.01.2022 We had a very productive club meeting last night, we can confirm that we changing our ride to a Saturday afternoon/night ride. Many of our club members enjoy being able to ride on Saturday night, have a good night's sleep, and then be home by lunchtime Sunday, without having to drive tired, we don't think we're the only ones that feel this way. It will also allow riders from the Northern Rivers to pack up and leave with plenty of time to make it to the Kirra gates. More details will be available a little closer to August.

10.01.2022 We are re-scheduling our annual ride to the weekend of the 24th and 25th of October, in theory there should be no border restrictions and our friends from the Northern Rivers Zone will be able to attend.

10.01.2022 The MERC Club meeting scheduled for Saturday the 28th of March has been cancelled. Our club is continuing to plan our August ride, as there are a number of things we can't do at the last minute should the ride go ahead. There is too much uncertainty to be able to say if our ride will or won't go ahead in August, although my feeling is we will still be in some sort of lockdown.... Stay safe everyone, you're probably not going to be exposed to Covid-19 riding your horses in the bush, so make the most of the situation.

06.01.2022 The Toowoomba Endurance Horse Riders Association regrets to inform you that we have been forced to postpone the Cooyar ride this weekend due to the COVID-19 outbreak and resulting effects on event restrictions, as well as loss of volunteers to attend the ride. Additional restrictions are expected to be announced by the Australian Government later today. Although these may theoretically not prevent endurance rides from occurring in an open air environment, there are other im...pacts which result in the loss of volunteer attendance as well as riders. We are all very disappointed that we could not get this event completed at this time, but the Toowoomba Club has carefully considered all of the risks/impacts and believe it is the right decision to make at this time. Your understanding will be appreciated and we hope to be able to keep our wonderful sponsors engaged to support an event at a later time (yet to be determined) when we can all be available to enjoy it fully. In the meantime we will be working with TryBooking to process ticket cancellations and refunds as soon as possible.

03.01.2022 For the first time in more than a century, Queensland will restrict access at its border. This step is essential to slow the spread of coronavirus on the advice... of our Chief Health Officer. These measures aren’t directed at our border communities who cross to shop or work, attend medical appointments and return to their homes. They’re designed to stop holidaymakers leaving southern states and risking the spread of this virus through Queensland. Measures take effect from midnight Wednesday and include: Border road closures and police checks on vehicles on major highways Advice to aircraft passengers at departure point that travellers to Queensland will be required to self-isolate for 14 days Travellers arriving at Queensland airports to be met by police and other officers Termination of rail services Exemptions include: Freight Emergency vehicles Emergency workers Those travelling to and from work Court orders including family court Compassionate grounds Medical treatment Anyone travelling to Queensland, not usually resident in Queensland, for any other reason will have to agree to self-isolate for 14 days sick or not. Penalties for failing to comply include fines of up to $13,345. Please let your own network know about these changes and help us spread the word. #Queensland #coronavirus

01.01.2022 Just another little task completed for our ride in August.
