25.01.2022 Some great memories and photos here, thanks for sharing Macca! Those palm trees reflected in the flooded green will be one for the history books, before they’re removed to make way for the new car park

25.01.2022 So lovely to see some of our members out having a bowl today! Keeping their distance, sanitising and signing in and out! Thanks to everyone who has been able to get us up and running (sort of!). Enjoy!

23.01.2022 We're so pleased to welcome our local Murrumbeena Community Bendigo Bank on board as a new Club sponsor. Thanks go to Dennis Tarrant for his assistance in making this happen. We encourage members and locals to support our local Bendigo Bank on Neerim Road, Murrumbeena. We look forward to a long-lasting partnership and working towards joint initiatives for our Club.

19.01.2022 Just in case you didn't get the memo... we are re-opening one of our greens this Sunday! Due to the current restrictions and a maximum patron limit of 10, we are only open for bowling members at this stage, with a booking system in place. We respectfully ask all members to adhere to the new guidelines that are in place for your safety, you can read more here: https://mailchi.mp/1df855af6753/july-club-news Please remember if you do intend to have a roll up to wear only bowls approved footwear as the green is still somewhat fragile.

18.01.2022 To all our eager members/bowlers, just a quick update to let you know that our greens are still CLOSED. Our greenskeeper has been working feverishly to get one green open sooner than the originally anticipated September timeframe. However, there is still some work to be done, and we still need Council approval to roll out the new Bowls Victoria / VIcSport guidelines. If all goes to plan we'll be able to have 10 per green, 2 per rink, as soon as all approvals have been received and once the green ready. There will be very strict Return to Play guidelines in place that members will need to adhere to. Hope you're all staying safe and healthy Club members will receive an email with Return to Play information soon.

18.01.2022 Got any kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews or neighbours looking for a challenge? This comp is open till next Friday, no entries yet - great prize. Kids just have to set up an obstacle course and use a ball or any object to make it through the course, film it and upload their video. Tell them you want the bowls, they can keep the airpods!

10.01.2022 Murrumbeena Park Bowls Club was very sad to hear of the passing of long term member Harold Hay. Harold passed away Sunday morning at Cabrini Palliative Care in Prahran. He was 87 years old and had been a member of our Club for 30 years. Harold's slow shuffle and smiling face was a constant most afternoons in the bar prior to COVID... we raise a glass of red in your honour Harold.... Our deepest condolences go out to Bev and the entire Hay family at this time.

02.01.2022 FREE SPONSORSHIP OFFER MPBC would like to thank all of the businesses in our local area who have remained open to service and support our members and the wider community during these crazy times. We also acknowledge those who were been forced to close their doors, either permanently or short term. We know so many of you have been doing it tough since early this year, including our tight knit club community at Murrumbeena Park Bowls Club, having shut the clubhouse & bar ba...ck in March. But there are other bowls clubs out there doing it even tougher, and some and may never re-open their doors again. Normally around this time of year we’d in the midst of our club sponsorship drive, seeking out local businesses in the Murrumbeena, Hughesdale and Carnegie area to support our great club. Instead, as a sign of our appreciation for the support and service that so many local businesses have provided to our members and our community during lockdown, we’d like to offer local businesses honorary sponsorship of Murrumbeena Park Bowls Club for the next 12 months. That’s right, free sponsorship for a year. We’re about to open our greens and clubhouse again (with restrictions in place) but when we’re back in full swing we’d like to welcome business owners, managers, staff and families to an Open Day on the Greens for all of our ‘Local Legends’ to try your hand at barefoot bowling, enjoy a drink at the bar and mingle with other locals. We hope that these events will be able to take place early in the new year. And the first drink is on us, thanks to the wonderful support we’ve received from our existing sponsors. We understand due to your business commitments that the Open Days may not be practical for everyone, so we would also welcome you, your team and your families at a time that suits you for your own barefoot bowling session at no charge. We’ll list your business as a club partner on our new website (about to be launched), as well as shout outs on social media and recognition inside our clubhouse and bar, as well as other benefits. So if you’re a business in Murrumbeena, Hughesdale or Carnegie, and would like to take us up on our offer, we’d love to hear from you. Simply follow the link below to tell us who you are and register your business details to claim your free sponsorship package. https://forms.gle/4MiFWzSQQr8VvUV96 We can’t wait to get to know you and welcome you and your team to our wonderful club as soon as we’re able to. Stay safe, and thanks once again to all local businesses for your ongoing support of our wonderful community. Glen Eira City Council, Make Murrumbeena Mine, Carnegie and Friends Kindness Community
