15.01.2022 Join us on the evening of Thurs 17 June for pizza and a fascinating talk by Geoff Williams, Director of the Australian Platypus Conservancy. Geoff will highlight the features that make the platypus so special, explain its conservation needs and how to go about helping these animals. We'll also learn some hints on how to spot platypus in the wild and the possibilities for becoming involved in monitoring these special creatures in our local area! 09.01.2022 ErinEarth is hosting a Family Fun Day on Sat 5th June from 9:30am 1:00pm. The family fun open day is a chance for you and your family to get to know the plant...s in your local area. Take your time to wander the serene environment with an espresso coffee in one hand and homemade cake in the other. Kids will enjoy the scavenger hunt and adults will love the native plants in our garden. Locally propagated plant seedlings will be available for sale. Entry is by individual gold coin donation. The ErinEarth garden is a large urban woodland garden in Wiradjuri Country, helping you to discover and learn about sustainable living. With a dream to be walking lightly on the Earth, this large water wise native and food garden is cared for by regular volunteers. The special theme this June is 'How's the Serenity'. We will have some music playing, bees flying, birds chirping... you know the drill. We will also have an information board about NAIDOC week in 2021 and how you can heal country by planting locally native species in your backyard.

03.01.2022 TESTS AVAILABLE: Assessing your feed and water quality for improved stock productivity Landholders in the Riverina Local Land Services region are invited to tak...e part in a project to assess the value and quality of their existing on farm stock feed and water sources. As well as providing advice, this project will increase your knowledge of the value and quality of current livestock feed rations coming from grain, forage, silage and or hay through the provision of prepaid DPI feed quality service test kits. This service would be beneficial to understand quality of pasture or crop before harvest for silage or hay production. Also, prepaid DPI water test kits will be available to each landholder to assist with better understand the water quality of farm dams and/or bores and/or streams. This learning is to show how to improve livestock productivity by balancing stock nutrient requirements with what is supplied from available on farm feed and water supplies. This project operates on a first in best dressed basis so please get in touch as soon as you can if you'd like to take part.
