22.01.2022 Take a step back in time at the Barellan Museum. The local amateur historians are keeping the stories of this charming town alive through memorable displays and artefacts. Barellan is also home to a classic old pub, The Commercial Hotel Barellan, and was where one of Australia’s most famous tennis players grew up (we're talking about Evonne Goolagong Cawley, of course!). Drop in to discover more about this historic place near Narrandera Tourism, visit the big tennis racquet and learn how wheat farmers made a living on the land.
20.01.2022 Hit the pavement and explore Visit Lockhart Shire’s Sculpture and Heritage Trail. This easy grade walk takes you on an artistic journey through Lockhart’s streets to discover some incredible sculptures. Sitting proudly at one of the entrances to the town is the captivating Australian Rain Dragon by Andrew Whitehead that won the 2009 National Farm Art Awards and is made from recycled farm materials. It is just one of the many amazing permanent sculptures around the town, so get your camera ready and enjoy the remarkable artistic talent on display.

12.01.2022 We're lookin' at the long weekend with adoration too Instagrammer @geofflongford spotted this beauty in Narrandera Tourism recently, alongside Lake Talbot which is actually named for his grandfather, William Talbot (how's that for a local connection?). You too can spot koalas along the Murrumbidgee Trails, and your best bet is at the Narrandera Flora and Fauna Reserve. Koalas were reintroduced to this area alongside the Murrumbidgee River back in the 1970s and they sure are flourishing. Wherever you head out exploring this weekend, be sure to share your shots with us using #MurrumbidgeeTrails. We love seeing what you get up to while exploring our region!
