23.01.2022 K-3 Tocal Excursion Today our K-3 students woke up super early and headed off on their excursion to Tocal Homestead to learn about where our food comes from. We broke up into small groups and went on a treasure hunt around the farm learning where different food comes from. Students followed a map around the homestead and saw the vegetable garden, poultry, pigs, cattle and sheep and collected various items that would later make a meal. After lunch we went and saw some sheep and went into a shearing shed to see where the sheep get shorn. Then we went over to the dairy and saw the calves in the nursery (so cute!) and watched the cows go through a milk cycle. It was a fantastic day all round.

22.01.2022 Week 4 Assembly Well done to all merit award, PBL award and workers of the week at our Assembly yesterday. It was excellent to have two of our students play the Australian National Anthem on clarinet for us and for 4/5/6 to provide the vocals.

20.01.2022 7 of our students competed at the Zone Cross Country in Muswellbrook today, doing themselves, their school and family very proud ~ Congratulations!

10.01.2022 You may have heard our warning system this morning. There is no need for alarm. We were practising our lock down procedure, so that everyone knows what to do.

09.01.2022 Today our 4/5/6 soccer super stars travelled down to Singleton to play Laguna Public School in the NSW PSSA Knockout competition. To say they did their school, community, family and each other proud is an understatement. Our students played extremely well in cold, wet conditions, but continued to display sportsmanship, perseverance and pride right to the final seconds. Unfortunately we were defeated on the scoreboard however, not in spirit.

09.01.2022 4-5-6 thoroughly enjoyed their visit to the Tamworth Regional Art Gallery. They learnt about the origins of the name Murrurundi, listened to Uncle Len tell the story of the emu in the sky and learnt some Gomeroi words. They had a go at eco dyeing, creating two fabulous artworks. The visit finished with the viewing of local artist, David Darcy's artwork currently on display and a visit to the vault to see David's Archibald Entry. It was a wonderful day of creating and connections.

04.01.2022 Music in Year 2/3 This term, students in the 2/3 class are learning the recorder under the guidance of Mrs Jones and Miss Reeves. So far, the students have learnt what the parts of the recorder are and how to play and read the notes B, A and G. Hopefully by the end of the term we’ll be able to play a few more songs other than ‘Hot Cross Buns’!

02.01.2022 We wish all the women who love and care and give support to our students a wonderful day.
