18.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart that the committee of Murtoa Events has decided to announce the cancellation of our Wine & Dine in The Stick Shed event given the current public health situation. While currently we sit within the recommendations of the government, two weeks is a long way away and it would be remiss of us to not take into consideration the general well-being of our guests, staff and community at this time. We will be issuing a message to all ticket holders via email... in the coming hours along with a full refund for tickets purchased, and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. We will keep assessing the situation as the year unfolds but it is extremely likely that the event will be off until next year. We would like to thank everyone for all of your thoughts and understanding, our sponsors for their great support, and our amazing committee and volunteers for the effort gone into the event until now. Our thoughts are also with our chefs and suppliers through this trying time and hope that things improve for them, and everyone, as soon as possible, we can’t wait to work with them with our next event. Thank you all again and stay healthy and safe everyone! See more

17.01.2022 Feeling a little proud after meeting and having Lauren Eldridge create a decadent chocolate treat using our chickpea flour brownie mix. Well done Lauren your de...sserts were delicious. After leaving university to pursue her culinary passion, Lauren Eldridges talent and determination has given her an impressive career at a young age. In 2016 she was awarded both The Good Food Guide Josephine Pignolet Young Chef of the Year as well as the Gault & Millau Potentialist of the Year. Training under acclaimed chef Mark Best at his Sydney fine diner Marque, Lauren worked her way from apprentice to Head Pastry Chef. Later she travelled to Europe to work at the Parisian three Michelin-starred restaurants Le Cinq and Guy Savoy before heading to Italy to work with internationally renowned chef Massimo Bottura, when his restaurant Osteria Francescana was named number 1 in the Worlds 50 Best Restaurants List. Upon her return from overseas, Lauren rejoined Best at Pei Modern before joining the Van Haandel Group in 2017 as Group Pastry Chef. Laurens role allows her to bring her signature style to the iconic Stokehouse Restaurants in Brisbane and St Kilda as well as the companys other venues in Melbourne, Fatto and Pontoon. Lauren designs desserts that focus on seasonal produce and loves sourcing products from local suppliers, embracing the challenge of finding unique ways to showcase the best of the ingredients. Eldridge is always conscious of finding ways to utilise everything and minimise waste. Lauren credits her unique, lateral approach to her training opportunities, working closely with both savoury and pastry chefs while also pushing to discover new cooking techniques and ideas herself. Her creations are born first from concept, working to transform the recognizable to the unusual, cleverly appealing to sensorial nostalgia with an added contemporary twist. An advocate for gender equality in hospitality industry, Lauren has contributed to Australian hospitality groups including Fully Booked Melbourne and Women in Hospitality as well as international platforms Parabere Forum and Creative Services Support Group- an Indian charity that saw her travel to New Delhi to work with underprivileged young women. She has also participated in panels for the Women in Foodservice Awards and Colemans Academy as well as supporting the Two Good Co. and The Starlight Foundation through her services. #wineanddine #murtoastickshed Shop our Chickpea flour brownies www.rupanyupliving.com.au

05.01.2022 We are so excited to once again announce Deirdre Baum as our first chef for this years event. Deirdre grew up on a farm in New Zealand and studied as a physiotherapist, before travelling overseas. She lived overseas for 14 years, before moving to Australia with her husband and young boys. Deirdre turned from a career in physiotherapy, to producing olive oil, in 2005, when she and her husband purchased an olive grove that was to become Laharum Grove. In addition to producing ...olive oil, Deirdre enjoyed making products, value adding to the key ingredient, olive oil. She catered to events in the area, and on the olive grove, as well as attending farmers markets with their products. Producing olive oil and attending the Slow Food farmers market, with all of its amazing produce and likeminded producers, gave her inspiration, and ignited her passion for cooking. Deirdre opened her restaurant, Deirdres, at Laharum Grove in October 2013. Deirdre is passionate about working with small producers, and making dishes that showcase provenance, sustainability and season. Deirdre loves to share her knowledge and appreciation for food, and to champion simple ingredients in beautiful and unique ways, making them shine. We are extremely lucky to have Deirdre involved with us again.
