25.01.2022 Corticosteroid injections, better known as cortisone shots, provide short-term pain relief for tendon problems such as tennis elbow but may be worse than other treatments later on, according to a new analysis. I had always been adverse to this method of treatment - muscle, tendon, ligament and cartilage athrophy (wasting away) are the usual side effects. https://medicalxpress.com//2019-10-evidence-steroid-hip-kn

24.01.2022 We no longer think of pain as a measure of tissue damage. We now think of pain as a complex and highly sophisticated protective mechanism. https://youtu.be/ikUzvSph7Z4

22.01.2022 Myotherapy is a very effective treatment for arthritis, osteoarthritis and gout. It is not a cure, it a complement to your doctor-prescribed arthritis treatment. Ask me how?
21.01.2022 Post operative. Rotator cuff tear arthroscope repair. Myofascial Needling with electro stimulation to release muscle spasticity, decrease scar tissue and decrease pain.
20.01.2022 This picture paints a thousand words - Ill explain the link of Myotherapy and Chiropractic Care to the Autonomic Nerve. In the middle of the picture is the spine - It controls and regulates the internal organs without any conscious recognition or effort by the organism. The autonomic nervous system comprises two antagonistic sets of nerves, the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. The sympathetic nervous system connects the internal organs to the brain by spinal... nerves. When stimulated, these nerves prepare the organism for stress by increasing the heart rate, increasing blood flow to the muscles, and decreasing blood flow to the skin. The nerve fibres of the parasympathetic nervous system are the cranial nerves, primarily the vagus nerve, and the lumbar spinal nerves. When stimulated, these nerves increase digestive secretions and reduce the heartbeat. How do we link this to Myotherapy and Chiropractic Care. When muscles along spine become tight, the vertebra either subluxates or compresses - causing a tension on the nerves (also affects blood flow and lymphatic flow) within the complex, which then disrupts the link between the critical organs of our body and the brain. With treatment - we release the muscles which caused the entrapment or subluxation, and show you how we can strengthen weak muscles and lengthen tight muscles, including Posture Correction.

18.01.2022 This finding suggests that increased intervertebral disc compressive force may promote development of low back pain in standing posture.

12.01.2022 Lets plank everyday!
11.01.2022 Dont try this at home . This video is for entertainment purposes only - In my opinion as a practitioner - the man doing the hammering seems like forcefully aligning the shoulders blade back to where its supposed to be. Joints misalign due to postural and muscle tone issues. Makes sense probably, but we dont support this method of treatment, and I doubt this modality will fly here in Australia .
10.01.2022 Its not an end of the world contagion. Statistics point to a death rate of 2%, meaning that for every 50 people who catch the virus, one will die. SARS was at 10%. I suppose, we only have to be more vigilant to avoid getting sick and passing the disease to the vulnerable people - very young children, the elderlies and those with compromised health issues. There are seven strains of coronavirus that infect humans, according to Greg Poland, director of the Mayo Clinic V...accine Research Group. Four are common colds, but three have "pathological significance": severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) and, now, the Wuhan coronavirus, formally called the 2019 novel coronavirus. "Nobody worries about influenza, but my guess is far more people will die from influenza this year than from any coronavirus," Poland said. "If this were pandemic influenza but we called it something exotic like novel coronavirus, people would be out of their minds. Yet people dont give it a second thought. We cant even get them get flu vaccines." The best way to treat symptoms is to take pain and fever medications, use a room humidifier or take a hot shower to help ease a sore throat and cough, drink plenty of liquids, and rest, the CDC says. That typically includes taking Tylenol, aspirin or decongestant, said Jay Cook, Chief Medical Officer at Providence Regional Medical Center in Washington, which received the first U.S. case of the Wuhan virus. Treatment "is really supportive care," Cook said. "Its pretty miserable for a while, but the virus typically runs its course." That

08.01.2022 Under the recent advise of the Dept of Health - * Routine services are not permitted *Care must only be provided if the absence of, or delay of this care, would result in a significant change/deterioration in the patient/clients functional independence necessitating escalation of care as described above. *These directives are about protecting the public and protecting health workers. *Practitioners must critically consider if the service is essential for the patient/clie...nt in the next six week period. This is about saving lives. *GP referrals are not required to provide care, however must meet the requirements as outlined above. **It must be noted that unless our patient has an NDIS, TAC, Workcover or DVA endorsed care plan, and if their presentation/condition is considered critical, i.e. to maintain functional independence and stay out of hospital, then you are not permitted to treat them face to face at this time. We are closed until further notice due to the Stage 4 Lockdown.

07.01.2022 "Intra-articular joint injection of steroids is a very common treatment for osteoarthritis-related pain, but potential aggravation of pre-existing conditions or actual side effects in a subset of patients need to be explored further to better understand the risks associated with it," Dr. Guermazi said. "What we wanted to do with our paper is to tell physicians and patients to be careful, because these injections are likely not as safe as we thought."
06.01.2022 Its no secret that high heels are a fashion accessory adored by many, but have you ever wondered if there are any side affects to wearing them? Unfortunately, there is. They can contribute to poor posture, ankle pain, joint pain in your neck and back and believe it or not, high heels can cause varicose veins. Your foot is home to a rich network of veins, as well as your foot pump which is where your body starts to return the blood to your heart. Walking in high heels puts a lot pressure on the muscles and can restrict your veins. If you also have other risk factors for varicose veins then you may want to consider how often you wear those six-inch stilettos!
03.01.2022 Im not against cracking, Im concerned about the effect of TOO much cracking - joint laxity and ligamental trauma are serious concerns. I do refer my patients to Chiros, I even have a Chiro working at my clinic. Dr Mike at the clinic, a Chiropractor will not manipulate your spine nor joint unless its absolutely necessary. Joint laxity is like opening a jar of honey- the first tug is often difficult, the more frequent you do it, the easier It gets. Over-Manipulation Synd...rome, a musculoskeletal condition, a person can develop chronic pain, muscle spasms, and other symptoms due to ligament laxity and joint instability. Excessive manipulation performed by a practitioner or by self-manipulation, causes the cervical and spinal supportive ligaments to become stretched as the manipulation continues, leading to more and more joint instability. 03.01.2022 Knee pain is common, and is usually caused by patellar maltracking. Patellar tracking disorder means that the kneecap (patella) shifts out of place as the leg bends or straightens. In most cases, the kneecap shifts too far toward the outside of the leg. In a few people, it shifts toward the inside - either caused by muscle imbalance, or biomechanical issues involving flat feet (collapsed arches), rotation of the tibia (lower leg bone), and leg length discrepancy (anatomic...al or functional). We correct these issues at Muscle Dynamics. Why dont you come for a Free Assessment.
