23.01.2022 Neck and shoulder pain is the most common complaint we hear from people who work in an office environment or at the computer for long periods. Along with having regular breaks and stretching, massage is a great way to relieve muscle tension, reduce pain and improve range of motion! We still have some appointments available for this week. Give us a call today on 93544455 or try out our online booking system.

22.01.2022 Welcome Back We would like to thank all of our clientele for their support and understanding during this time. We have now officially reopened. We have extra protocols in place for your protection and ours. We are currently working shorter appointments times to limit exposure. We are having longer time periods between clients for disinfecting. There is hand sanitiser for everyone to use. We are limiting how many clients we are seeing in one day. ... If you are sick, got a fever, travelled or been in contact with anyone who has travelled please stay home to stop the spread. Western Australia is doing amazing at beating this virus with only 14 active cases left lets bring it down to ZERO. If you would like an appointment please call us on 93544455. Online are still currently turn off. Thank you Nicolle and Belinda

22.01.2022 Muscle Care is going digital! All new and existing clients will need to fill out an intake form at their next appointment so we can updated client information to put into our new system. When we are ready to go live clients will have the option to book appointments online as well as calling the clinic on 93544455 ... We would like to thank all our clients for their patience with us during this teething period while we are in the process of switching over to the online booking system.

19.01.2022 Musculoskeletal pain changes the way that we move, these could be subtle changes or completely avoiding certain movements altogether. Changes in movement are helpful in early stages of pain but may have negative long term consequences. By altering the load on surrounding muscles, ligaments and joints we can potentially add more stress to the body in areas that have to compensate for the injury.

18.01.2022 We hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season! All of our therapists are now back from holidays and we still have appointments available for this week. Give us a call on 9354 4455

17.01.2022 This is an extremely important message for every Western Australian today: If you are feeling unwell with ANY symptoms of a cold or flu - STAY HOME. Some people... are legally required to self-isolate, but this is a call to every Western Australian to do the right thing and not put others at risk. That means: If you are unwell, dont go to work. If you are unwell, dont go to school. If you are unwell, dont go to the shops. If you are unwell, only leave the house if you need to seek medical attention. If you are unwell, wait until you are feeling 100% before going back to work or school. Theres every chance that it will just be a cold - but dont take the risk. Stay. Home.

15.01.2022 Remedial Massage is an effective tool to use as part of your exercise training regime to improve your performance. Some benefits include increased blood flow to muscles, decrease in muscle soreness/cramping and to promote a faster recovery after exercise. By using Remedial Massage as a preventative measure during training, we can reduce the risk of injury due to muscle tension.

15.01.2022 As we enter another cold and flu season we would like to remind clients not to attend appointments if they are sick.

15.01.2022 Long time no post, sorry we have been busy catching up since COVID. We still have appointments available this week, jump online or call us to book. 12.01.2022 Several Studies have shown that walking reduces arthritis related pain. Walking helps protect the joints (knees and hips especially) by lubricating them and strengthening the muscles around the joint that support them.

12.01.2022 Online bookings are back up and running

11.01.2022 Inactivity and rest makes pain and osteoarthritis worse, not better in the longer term. Our joints need movement and exercise to stimulate repair and keep them ...strong. There is undisputable evidence that staying active and regular participation in exercise is safe and will help improve pain, and a persons quality of life. https://www.sbs.com.au//myth-busted-exercise-isn-t-harmful

11.01.2022 New research into arthritis of the knees has shown how regular exercise minimizes inflammation and helps prevent cartilage damage related to osteoarthritis. Instead of activity avoidance, a gradual increase of low impact exercise such as swimming can have a positive effect on the joint.

10.01.2022 How to apply the R.I.C.E method during the acute stage of injury: REST the injured area for 48hours. ICE for 20min at a time 4 to 8 times a day. COMPRESS the area to reduce swelling (not to tightly!) ELEVATE the injured limb 6 to 10 inches above the heart.... And seek the advice of your physiotherapist or other health professional for diagnoses. After the acute or Protection stage of an injury is over (2-4 days depending on how you treat your injury and the severity of the injury) massage is an effective way to speed up the recovery process to get you back into exercising sooner by reducing adhesion formation and improving range of motion.

10.01.2022 *Currently still closed* WA government is slowly easing restrictions. According to the WA government Remedial Massage is now classed as an essential service but only if not treated in an affected place of business. So that means not performed in beauty salons, gyms, massage parlours and WELLNESS centres. Here is my dilemma, my association is still advising us to still stay closed. The government and police arent talking to each other. Even though I believe I am a remedial ma...ssage therapist working from a health clinic, if the police dont understand what remedial massage is and have misconception about massage, they can still shut me down and give me a fine. I am really hoping to open next week with new procedures and guidelines in place to keep everyone safe. Will keep you all posted

09.01.2022 Currently online bookings have been turned off. We will keep you updated with COVID 19, looks like we will have to close with the governments new rules announced tonight. We will let you know tomorrow morning.

08.01.2022 When can I receive massage after surgery? An important part of any surgical procedure is the recovery process when natural movement is re-learnt and freedom of movement is re-enforced. Post-operative Massage is targeted at injury recovery and rehabilitation and has many benefits to the healing process of the body such as: - Decreasing pain and swelling - Increasing range of motion... - Breaking down scar tissue and adhesions - And increasing circulation But how soon after surgery should you get a massage? Before getting massage you need to wait until your stitches have been removed and any scabbing has fallen off naturally, usually 2-3 weeks after the operation. However, the recovery process for each individual will be different depending on the type of surgery, location and whether or not there were any complications during or after the procedure. That is why it is always good to get the advice of your surgeon or GP first.

05.01.2022 A question we are after asked is "How is Remedial massage different to sports or deep tissue massages?" The answer being that Remedial massage is just a umbrella term for the range of techniques which include Deep tissue, sports, trigger point, myofacial release and manual lymph drainage to name a few. We use various techniques during a treatment depending on the individual clients needs. Remedial massage is our job title and deep tissue is one of the techniques :)
