We teach several ways of shaping positive nail trimming practices during the classes and here young full of spunk Miss 'Valerie' and her owner Senior Vet Nurse Phoebe from the Family Vet Centre show us all how much fun it is to learn how to use a scratchboard from Muscles & More! Valerie a...lso showed us how clever she is a sit, although sitting on the scratchboard could be a right chaffing experience if not careful! #FPC2

12.01.2022 Very informative. If your pet stops breathing en route you can perform "nose to mouth" breathing to keep them alive until arriving at your vets where they will take over. SNAKES... As the weather warms up, so do Australia's snakes. This is a reminder for all pet owners to take precautions. Signs of snakebite can be subtle at first, and can progress with devastating rapidity to complete paralysis and an inability to breathe, which is the most common cause of death in dogs and cats. Additionally, snake venom may stop the blood clotting, causing internal bleeding, and with Tiger snakebites severe muscle damage also occurs. If you see your pet in close contact with a snake it is important that you take your pet to the vet immediately. Ring ahead and inform them of a potential snakebite. If you can, carry your dog to the car, as activity hastens the signs of envenomation. Do not take a wait and see approach, and don't waste time looking for the bite as it is rare to be able to find the bite in dogs and cats. If your pet has been playing with, or near, a snake and suddenly vomits, loses control of its bowels, collapses or has unusual breathing, salivating, dilated pupils, unsteady gait or weakness, and then appears to recover, it is highly likely to have received a potentially lethal bite, and will require treatment. If your pet stops breathing en route to a veterinarian, you can give mouth to nose breathing to help keep them alive. Australia is lucky to have the best antivenine in the world and with intensive care, most dogs and cats bitten by snakes will survive and live a normal life. Walla Vet Practice

11.01.2022 Gee wiz I feel so very humbled to receive such heartfelt, honest recommendations and reviews like this. To know people feel so very comfortable to come into clinic and walk away feeling empowered is a really beautiful thing for me. Thanknyou Emily and Gem "I took my Border Collie, Gem, to visit Janine yesterday for a treatment and I can't talk highly enough of how great the session - and Janine - was. What an incredible person to have supporting our four legge...d friends and the demands on their bodies at different stages of their lives... we are so truly lucky. It felt like such a wonderful privilege to learn so much from Janine, and she so generously spent her valuable time with Gem and I, working through different things that would help Gem, and I, to effectively progress forward. Janine is so down to earth, like you're chatting with a good mate, who is just as eager to help your best (fur)mate as you are. From the beginning of our session, it was evident that Janine has a great passion for her work, and is an incredible and valuable wealth of knowledge. She made us feel really comfortable in a relaxed environment, and provided so much support for everything that was Gem, but also me as her owner/handler. I am so appreciative of Janine's care and expertise in working with Gem, and, as I was leaving yesterday, I felt so grateful to have met and chatted with Janine, and gained so much from this one consult - as did Gem! We will definitely be back, and look forward to Gem's next appointment!" See more
