25.01.2022 Here’s a lovely thing! 5 cellos playing together virtually and one looks like Margie from our last concert. (Sorry, no info to confirm this). Enjoy. https://youtu.be/OpNNt1jF0Dc

25.01.2022 We cordially welcome cellist Margie Iddison to Mt David. Margie is replacing David Pereira in this concert. David has taken on a position at Canberra School of Music which means he is unable to perform. Congratulations David! https://facebook.com/events/s/the-3-davids-piano-trio/725899994556934/?ti=icl

21.01.2022 So sad to hear of the death of our bassoonist friend John Cran (right). We were honoured to have him at Music at Mt David several times. Vale John.

20.01.2022 We are sorry to announce that Rachel’s next concert with us in May has been postponed due to the current Covid-19 pandemic. Your health and that of our performers is paramount to us. Happily, Rachel is planning some virtual concerts in the next while and we will let you know when so that you can enjoy Bach in the Dark at home.

17.01.2022 Here it is!! Bach in the Dark at home. Please read and note the date. You must register for this free event...

16.01.2022 A wonderful afternoon with these three.

14.01.2022 As you will have already heard via email, our concert with the wonderful Neemans has been postponed due to current restrictions on gatherings (and commonsense). Like you, we just can’t wait to be gathering with you all again and enjoying fine music and supper once more. In the meantime, here is a link to a recent recital by Edward and Stephanie. I’d encourage you all to visit their YouTube channel! ... https://www.facebook.com/Neemanpianoduo/videos/275371313559710

14.01.2022 Wishing you all a very happy Christmas! From the Tusons.

13.01.2022 Dear Bach in the Dark friends, Thank you to you all for joining Ben Ward and me last Friday! I was totally overwhelmed by all the support, generosity and warmt...h that came our way over the lead-up to the concert, the night of the concert, and then the few days afterwards. Thank you to you all... it means so very much. Music is something that we can all share. It can transport, soothe, uplift and give hope and I know that at this strange time, it is needed more than ever. It’s a strange thing, to play to a web-cam, but it’s so fabulous that you are all loving it. So the live streaming experiment continues and on Friday May 8 I will be joined by the amazing violinist Veronique Serret. Some of you may have heard her playing before she has played in the Bach in the Dark series a few years ago, and she an absolute firecracker! I’m so excited that she’s agreed to play! We’ll be playing music by J.S. Bach, Elena Kats-Chernin, Godard, Bartók and a few other surprises! I know you’ll love it... Here’s what you need to do. Go to Humanitix (https://events.humanitix.com/bitd-cello-violin-2020) and buy a ticket it’s only $7.50 (or you can visit through the website too - http://www.bachinthedark.com/index-phpindex-php/2020-05-08/. If you’d like to give a little more, then that would be really welcome, as it’s a hard time for artists right now but $7.50 is all we are asking. At 5pm, you’ll be sent a youtube link to the concert that you need to click on before 7pm. IF YOU HAVEN’T GOT THE LINK BY 5.30, PLEASE EMAIL US SO WE CAN SEND IT TO YOU DIRECTLY. When you click on it, you’ll see my back room with the Bach in the Dark sign on it. You’ve arrived! Pour yourself a glass of wine. Someone will probably walk past and say hello at some point beforehand. The best listening experience will be to listen through speakers, or headphones but I’m happy for you to listen in any way you want to. (Bear in mind that this isn’t broadcast quality there may be some glitches that will be out of our control. But we’ll do our best!) At 7pm, or shortly thereafter, we should appear (if all goes to plan). And then we’ll play for you as beautifully as we can. Have another glass of wine. Sit and be in the moment. Hopefully you can forget all the craziness, just for a short time. Feel free to spread the word if you know others who’d like to join in the music-making this venue won’t sell out! I’ll see you soon....

11.01.2022 Enjoy this fine example of circular breathing. Really there’s no other explanation...

06.01.2022 It’s Beethoven’s 250th birthday.

03.01.2022 Happy 75th birthday Rod! Here he is as a thoughtful young chap. Today he is trying to fix his tractor! And is celebrating later with an amazing cake.

02.01.2022 Our wonderful musicians for this Saturday’s concert.
