23.01.2022 The 40 finalists for the 2020 Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition have been revealed after a record 4,061 entries were received. This significant number of entries raised just over $203,000 for Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Australia, with the $50 entry fee sent directly to the association. In the most challenging year ever for songwriters, it is heartening and not at all surprising that songwriters from around the world generously entered the Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition in record numbers, said APRA AMCOS chief executive, Dean Ormston. Funded by Creative Victoria and delivered in partnership by Music Victoria and Regional Arts Victoria, the program will support the employment of three Regional Music Workers for 12 months in three regions across the state. These local music workers will work to develop projects and initiatives to support local music networks and activity as we...ll as act as brokers to establish connections with music representatives in other parts of the state, local governments, arts bodies and other relevant stakeholders. 17.01.2022 The Victorian Government has developed the First Peoples’ COVID-19 Business Support Fund to support Victorian Aboriginal businesses that have been affected by trading restrictions introduced to combat COVID-19. Grants can be used to help to meet business costs including rent and salaries, develop marketing activities or pivot the business offering in response to the current environment.
